Surprised Wellens isn't starting, his and Copps' understanding can unlock most defences in this division.  Time for Forrester to take the lead.

Looks like Soccer Saturday need to change their code for the goal ticker.  Everything coming up twice.... including Rotherham 2-0 down in 6 minutes.

Needs a DISTINCT in that SELECT statement.

No one mentioned the weather yet, it's a comfortable 19*C with a fresh 68% humidity and gentle 7mph SSW wind. Slightly dark, but Steer has been on the carrots, so all good.

Guys, we've been through this countless times before. The club don't make any money off rovers players so there is no incentive to change it. They are relying on volunteers like Glen to contribute.

Nothing game.  Can't see us scoring.

Needless free kick given away and baxendale had all the time in the world in the box.  Good goal for him.

What concerns me is the lack of pace on the break which is surprising when you consider the team.  They counter attack, get into the final third and slow the play down.  Walsall get plenty back.

Just a poor game and would be pleased if rovers stay up

Our problem is inconsistency.  We lost with the same starting 11 after winning at Watford.  We attacked with a great threat vs Chesterfield and in the second half at Fulham.

Do the players and manager turn shite because of one poor game?

Good to know it isn't the young lads at fault, but I mean defence as in defenders and defensive midfielders, Furman isn't impressing me and neither is Keegan.

I like Dickov, he talks a good fight, but enough is enough. It's just not working. There is no style of play to speak of and a lack of consistency. We could do with a little more quality in defence but in general have decent players, but he is just not getting the best from them. Time for a change.

Decent performances have been too few and far in between, even worse that encouraging performances turn out to be defeats.  If we stick with Dickov we're at risk of playing in league two next year
Title: Re: Walsall v TLO Doncaster
Post by: Bristol Red Rover on September 27, 2014, 04:35:02 pm
I do think there is something that Dickov isn't getting a grip of, but would anyone else do better? What exactly would they improve?

The defence is vulnerable, needs an upgrade, though Jones may be back in a match or two. What bothers me is our midfield should be tearing teams apart in this league.

The two main strikers out with our squad limitations is something of an excuse. Main especially is a crucial part of Dickovs set up.

Don't look at the league table until 10 games in.

We're as good as that and are 2 points above the drop zone.  This is really poor, embarrassing to be honest.

And please nobody suggest how winning our game in hand would see us near the play offs.

Dickov is inept and just not lucky enough to get away with it.

Time to go

Does anyone know why Bennett went off? He's been the stand out player this season, alongside Coppinger, and one of our best attacking threats?

I've seen nothing in the last 15 months to believe that Dickov can turn this around.

I wonder if Main returning will bring about the miracle we're all hoping for.
