Where is the best place you've been on a stag do? Need to decide for next year and can't!!!
-
Depends on what you're looking for and budget.
Edinburgh, Berlin, Barcelona all give you booze and a bit of culture.
If you just want booze and hen parties from Wigan, then Blackpool and Benidorm are your best bet.
-
Amsterdam without a shadow of a doubt
-
Prague is quality, though I thought Amsterdam was over-rated.

whys that oslo. Whats our link to both teams?

Been to Prague three times and it's good.
Been to Amsterdam three times and it's good if you like weed and brass, if not its shit.
Liverpool and Newcastle are good in this country if you are just on the prowl for slags.
If you are after somewhere a bit different go to Riga in Latvia. We had a right time there, not cheap but it was a good craic.
Southport is a bit of a shit hole but we had one of the best night away we have ever had there.
Magaluff is a quality one as well but not everyone's cup of tea.
-
Drinks in Amsterdam very expensive. Liverpool, Newcastle, Prague, Benidorm, Magaluff tick most of the boxes ie stuff to do during the day and cheap beer to get pissed on the night.

Ok cheers all. Been magaluf and Benidorm loads of times. Fancy somewhere sunny and found very cheap flights to Barcelona. Didn't really have that down as a stag do place though.
-
Barcelona's on the coast as well. Chance to lay there sobering up and catching some rays in preparation for another nights drinking.
-
Never been to Barca but know plenty that have, meant to be a nice place but there's every chance you will get robbed.
-
Was in Barcelona in August, have your wits about you, especially around Catalunya Square, dodgy looking folk loitering everywhere
-
I had my stag do in Berlin and it was good, plenty to see and do as well as fairly cheap booze. I've also been to Budapest, Krakow and Hamburg on either stag dos or footy tournaments away and they were all a decent weekend too. I'd put Barca down as somewhere to go with your Mrs rather than for a stag do, awesome city but it's very pricey. Madrid is a great place but again, probably more a city break than a stag do.
Definitely agree with Gaz about Amsterdam, I went with a group of lads where I was the only non-smoker and thought it was a bloody horrible place but they all loved it.

Barca on a stag do > pissed up tourists>Good chance you have Your phone
Stolen or wallet dipped out of ypur pockets > Police just stand back
-
Definitely Nice - one of my favourite places in the world. Beautiful bay of angels, bars, sunshine and a short hop to Monte Carlo or Cannes by train - bit pricey but plenty of cheaper bars off the tourist route and the backstreet cafés serve great food at reasonable prices and well worth it!

What's wrong with Skeggy?

What's wrong with Skeggy?
Where shall I start???!!!!!
:chair:
-
The only Stag do I have been on was to Berlin in June - I thoroughly enjoyed and the weather being 34 degrees everyday helped, also we went when the Kreuzberg festival was on.
-
Skeggy's good value for money. Spend a night there and it seems like a week.

Stag do's?
How's about stag don'ts:
1. Don't get anyone pregnant
-
What time of year are you thinking about having the Stag do ? So you could tie it in with events in certain places, sport or cultural events ( beer festivals ) etc
-
Around the end of August / early sept mate.

I will Throw York into the hat
20 mins on the train ,you all know Its a great drink and 20mins back on last train .
Cheap as chips .

If you end up on the last train home from a stag do, you are doing it wrong!

Best stag do i was ever on was with 63 chelsea lads to Aranel the german
Part of magaluff.
This was about 15 years ago and i was 35 and one Of youngest there .
Fly out on two different flights but all booked into same hotel, thursday to Monday.
First coach pulled upto to hotel thursday as 18:00 meal was waiting to open.you could see all the german mouthed drop as we were booking in,they was just about in tears When the second coach Of 30 came in 40 mins later.
By the sunday the germans in our hotel were all wanting photos taken
With us ,Even had group photos with german kids.
They said that they could not understand how good our conduct was to
Rest Of hotel guests Even When we was slsughtered given the press
Of english football hooligans.

I wouldn't bother with York... Good for an afternoon session but you'd struggle to get in the bars at night. The bouncers seem to take great pleasure in refusing entry to groups of lads, even if theyve been putting money over the bar all day.
Cheap as chips .

Market Place has it all
-
If money was no object, the only place on earth for a stag do is Vegas. It's an amazing place with something for everyone.
I went to Benidorm for mine and that was spot on too. Not somewhere I'd go for a family holiday but ideal for a bunch of blokes to get pissed and have a laugh.

Hi Dave, what was Berlin like? Are there plenty of bars in similar areas etc? Not keen on walking miles to each bar. Is the nightlife good? Would you say it's 'safe'? There would be around 15 of us, did you have any issues with big groups getting in places?
Starting to fancy a German city just want to pick the right one!
-
Just to throw a few more names in:
Maastricht is a beautiful place and has more pubs/bars per 1000 population than anywhere else in Europe. Just beware of Carnival about 6 weeks before Easter. Other Dutch towns if you don't fancy Amsterdam would be the University towns of Leiden and Delft.
For German places, apart from Hamburg which is great, I always liked Aachen, Koblenz, Trier and Munich (expensive) especially around Oktoberfest - which is of course in September because of the change from Julian to Gregorian Calendar in 1583.

Prefer Maifests myself not quite as busy and touristy
