We will probably find Mr Bramall is one of the richest ever Doncastrians . He is also the most philanthropic ever Having set up a £100 million Charitable Fund . He was brought into our club with Dick Watson when we and John were desperate for funding . A quiet philanthropic saviour . I hope he never gets tired of us , or rather that he never loses the belief that Club Doncaster can do a lot for the social well being of his home town long term by continuing to support it's main sporting clubs.

i dont doubt bramhall is one of doncaster richest behind kirkham,and is charity is well known but theres always the bramhall name being attached in one form or another( buildings named after him) but for me invest more in the rovers and they can build a statue and name the stadium after him.if not go back to harrogate and let someone else have a go

Folk realise this, but the continued posts of "what wood?" have slightly tipped people over the blurred lines of what's considered a bit of harmless banter and what could be construed as picking on someone..

I agree, Bramall go back to Harragate and allow one of those other millionaires banging on our doors to throw away their money on the club they love. I just can't decide which one I want next? :headbang:

Clarkson is worth about £15m, with recent years board subsidies that's about 4-5 years before he and DRFC are bankrupt and it still would not get you beyond bottom 3 in championship.

Kevin MacDonald was worth £50+ million a few years ago but he must be knocking on a bit now.

Unless you are a massive footie fan, why would you donate your wealth to a footie club? The only other reason to be involved in a footie club is to make money from it, but this is a massive gamble as only 3 teams a year get promoted - When it goes wrong these investors will not care what state they leave the club in or whether there is a club left at all. I reckon you'd need to commit £10m-£15m/year for a few seasons to challenge in the championship, so we need....
A footie mad donny rovers supporter with around £50m to spare with no expectation of any return of that money. Or they can't think of anything better to donate £50m to in the local community.

What does kirkham do for the sport in Doncaster, ohhhh yes, he sponsors the Olympic Showjumping team.

our club is respected for what we achieved thanks to john ryan he may not have the ready cash no more only assets but dont the club still owe him 5 mill and didnt our beloved owners say if he wants it back the club would go into administration

There was still an outstanding loan to Ryan in the last set of accounts, don't know if that's still the case.
There was a suggestion from TB that one scenario if Ryan called it in would be to put the club into admin, can't imagine why they would do that - I guess it was more of a way to keep JR from doing so.

A fellow Rover plus a couple of Owls had the fortune to bump into Salzburg's ultras a few years ago when we were in Austria for the Euros and they told us all about what Red Bull did to their club FC Salzburg when they took them over - changed the club colours, stopped the fans sitting in their normal areas etc.
The fans have since created a new team a la FCUM to restore some of their traditions.
I wouldn't want Red Bull anywhere near the team I support.

Hear hear Muttley. I was hoping someone would point out the dreadful implications of having Red Bull anywhere near. A truly awful organisation when it's near a football club. As bad as a Hedge Fund fron Belize.

if you look back on the previous page, brendan, people have mentioned a few names. the consensus seems to be there are no millionaires currently in doncaster or from doncaster willing to throw large amounts of money into the football club
