Not far from the same spot where 3 other young people were killed a few years ago
-
To kill all 5 in one car it's got to have been a bad one.
-
Tragic.
-
Their poor families. My sympathies go to all of them. It is the thing all parents fear most of all.
-
Someone has just told my wife they were Danum School pupils.
A tragic loss of young lives.
-
Awful news. Today is a bad day.

A tragic loss of young lives.
Four current pupils and one former pupil. Terrible news and I can't imagine what the families will be going through.
-
Horrible news thoughts with the families
-
I'm a school governor up at Danum and went up late afternoon. It's going to be a tough few weeks but the school is pulling together and there will be plenty of support for anyone that needs it. A very sad event but together they will pull through.
-
Drove along that road about a hour before the crash and then intended to come back along it at 10:15 but was closed from warmsworth lights onwards.
-
I might be wrong, but didn't former Rovers captain John Nicholson die in a car crash on that road?
-
Awful driving conditions last night. Drove to Barnsley and back and it wasn't great. Visibility down to 50 metres tops.

Absolutely horrible and tragic. Can only imagine the hurting their friends and family are going through. My condolenses and thoughts to them all.
Just found out my son knows one of them, because apparently he goes to the Rovers foundation.I assume he will be the former Danum student?R.I.P. All of them.
-
Absolutely shocking and horrific tragedy.
Puts all our petty squabbles about the manager etc into perspective...
-
My daughter has been in Leeds all day, got home late, and she knew Megan.
-
It was a bad night, I drove down to the station on Sheffield road through Warmsworth. Wet conditions, patchy fog, sometimes very thick, it's quite close to the river. It's a dark corner going into Conisborough there.
Inexperienced drivers, possibly traveling too fast.
Tragic.
-
Terrible loss, thoughts are with the families
Knocker glad the school is pulling together and offering support
everyone spends time on here bickering/singing praises of a few guys kicking a bag of wind about - this puts things into perspective

RIP to the 5. Thoughts with their families and friends at this hard time.
Is that road a 60MPH? If so, they need to be changing the speed to a 40MPH (if possible) in my opinion.

yeah, 60 from where the accident happened right up to the quarry entrance on the warmsworth side, some definitely needs to be done, changed to a 40 or speed cameras, just walked by with the dog and there's plenty of flowers there and the news and paper crew are still there. Tragic what happened and makes you realise how cruel life can be taken away from you like that. Rest in peace

It's always been a dangerous road. Long ago my mum was courting a lad from Mexborough, he was really into motorbikes apparently. He killed himself on that road.
-
Had a mate got killed nearly at same place as previous crash, it doesnt seem too bad a road but obviously is
-
Problem is, people come flying along Warmsworth Drag, and some of them don't slow down as they come into Conisbrough past the water tower. I've seen no end of idiotic driving there over the years. And on the other side of Conisbrough, where the suicide lane is between Hill Top and Hooton Roberts.
I'm guessing that the bloke who's been arrested has overtaken someone at speed coming into Conisbrough, and has either hit, or forced the car with the kids in off the road.
-
The car with the kids in it went into the Seat on the other side of the road. And the 21 year old was travelling in front of the kids.
-
Eh well. That was the soft bas**rd in me giving the benefit of the doubt to the dead.
By the sound of it, it's a tragedy that most of us came within a few inches of as an 18-19 year old driver, certain of our immortality and determined to impress our mates.
-
Yes Billy. It makes shudder and cringe, all at the same time, when i think of how I used to drive when I was 19,20,21. I really don't know how I survived tbh. If I was a copper I'd lock me up now for what I did back then.
