Can you blame em for doin a runner to a place where they are out of the control of their extended family and out of the arranged marriage to some older cousin in order to keep the dowry and 2 acres in Bangladesh in the family.
-
If that is the case then they are hardly going to gain more control over their lives by joining IS.
They might think they are going to be jihadi fighters but the likelihood is they will be paired off with a male fighter and expected to be a subservient wife.

You have a point. What boils my piss about this whole incident is that due to political correctness the police felt they had to issue an abject apology to the families concerned. What kind of a world are we living in? It should be the families issuing abject apologies for being such shit parents. They have no excuse. There is no way these girls should have been even contemplating what they did without their parents knowing. Parents, it's your fault. Accept the blame and deal with it.
As a side issue I don't agree that they should now be treated as terrorists. I know it's a long shot, but if we can get them back to the UK, every effort should be made to rehabilitate them with prison not being an option. They've made a huge mistake and will probably be seriously regretting it now.

They are old enough to know what they are doing, they know what Isis are doing, hope the fcukers die out there, save the over stretched police and intelligent services a job of monitoring them if they ever do try to come back here.

They are not old enough to know what they are doing. They are children. They've been brought up by shit parents and been brainwashed by the religion of Islam. If after de-radicalisation they still pose a threat, then yes they should be locked up.
However, I bet they are by now seriously regretting what they've done. Just think of the good they could do if they did come back by warning other impressionable children of the reality of the situation.
It's a good job there is someone around like me to point out that not everything in the world is as black and white as you make out. Where is your compassion man?

Agree with you on that, IC. If they return to the UK voluntarily it is better to try to reintegrate them into society than just to lock them up.
Obviously you would need to be certain that they had abandoned jihadism, but if they had they could be very useful in pointing out to other young Muslims the dangers of becoming radicalised.

They were not brainwashed by Islam but by extremism
