Title: First time buyers in Doncaster
Post by: IC1967 on March 18, 2015, 06:18:48 pm
You've now got no excuse. Virtually anyone in Doncaster can now buy a house. Generous George will give you up to £3000 to help you with your deposit. That's an extra £25 for every £100 you save in a Help to Buy ISA.

Unbelievably good offer. You'll also get interest on the ISA! Anyone who carries on renting needs their heads examining.

They also need a full-time job with a decent enough salary to satisfy the mortgage lender, not zero hours or short-term contract. The problem is those multi-owner landlords pushing prices up.

Generous George will only allow you to put in £1,000 lump sum and then £200 a month meaning that it will take almost 5 years to benefit from the £3,000 that the Government is offering. Not that fantastic in the grand scheme of things.... All it will do is add £3k on to house prices meaning that those who want to buy within the next 5 years will suffer.

Look. Stop making excuses. Get saving and get that house bought before the deal is pulled.

We live in just about the cheapest part of the UK. Nearly everyone in Doncaster should own their own home. No ifs or buts.

There should be hardly any council housing in Doncaster. We don't need it.

I don't live in Doncaster but thanks for your concern.

I also note how you've ignored what I've said - it will be the end of the next government by the time anyone can take full advantage of this.

I notice you have also ignored what I said, there is a signifcant portion of the people of Doncaster who are not entitled to it.

Look. Nearly anyone that can afford to pay rent can afford to buy a house in Doncaster. You do know it is possible to buy a house at around £30000?

That doesn't need a big deposit or salary, especially if there are 2 of you.

Get a grip and stop making excuses.

I think you'll find that prices go down where landlords buy up an area as a lot of undesirables tend to be renters.

It is not the case that lenders will only lend to you if you've got a full time job with a decent salary. Most people buy as a couple. If 2 people can't get a mortgage for £30,000 then there is absolutely no hope for them.

Maybe not everyone wants to settle for a £30k house in Doncaster... I'd rather rent thanks.

There's nothing wrong with Edlington. Get saving and get a house bought.

Typically 25%. However in Doncaster, because houses are so cheap, I prefer to just pay cash.

Put down 25% of cash seems an interesting concept. I think I will have to look into a bit more closer.

Once you've got a house you can then use the equity in that to get the next one. Keep repeating this process and you're well on your way to becoming a millionaire.

I'd recommend Moss Properties. They have an excellent Lettings manager who is more than happy to go through the process with you.

Buy to Let is easily the best investment anyone living in Doncaster could make. I intend to get my children involved in the market. They'll be looking at retirement by the time they're 30.

Is that because they'll be inheriting your Bettaware round ?
