As many of you know, I'm a professional gambler. I've decided to show you some of the tricks of the trade so you can profit at the bookies' expense. I just hope silly Billy and daft Bob keep their noses out of this thread. I'm doing a public service here.
There are lots of ways of guaranteeing a profit when gambling. If you do it right then you will only lose if you make a mistake. When this happens you just have to take it on the chin as the profits will far outweigh the losses.
The first way I'm going to show you how to make some money is by taking advantage of bookies' free bet offers. You usually get these when you first open an account. The process that turns these offers into profit is known as Matched Betting. Most of you will be aware of bookies offering you a free bet when you initially open an account. There is a way of taking advantage of these offers and guaranteeing a profit. Take your time and work your way through this guide. You may need to read it through a few times before it makes sense.

Here's one for those with 365 accounts (and you that haven't...200% deposit bonus... what are you waiting for).
Place a pre-match bet on the Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid game and we will give you a risk free In-Play bet to the same stake on the big match.
To qualify for your risk free In-Play bet, simply place a bet before kick-off, then once the game starts place another bet on any In-Play market. If your FIRST In-Play bet loses we will refund this stake, up to the same value as your largest pre-match bet (max £50*).
Tomorrow, whatever your first bet pre-game on Athletico vs Real is, 365 will credit you with a free bet of the same stake to be used in-play. It's free money basically. There's a number of ways of doing it depending on which result you fancy, but this is how I'll probably play it.
Pre-game 365 - £50 on Athletico @ 15/8.
Pre-game (any other bookie) back Real. I'm using Betfred, £29 @ 7/4.
In play 365 - £50 on Draw at around 23/10.
If Atleti win, you've won £64.75
If Real win, you've finished 75p infront.
Draw, you're £36 infront.
RISK FREE. NO LOSE. You can't argue with that. It's relatively simple to switch the outcomes around if you fancy the Draw or Real more.
I expect those pair of numpties Bob and BST to be a long in a moment throwing personal insults around or accusing me of being somebody else. But this is no lose, get some beer tokens in the coffers for this weekend.
-
I like your style BoomBoom. It would seem we have a few matched betting experts on the forum (Prez is also clued up). Let's just hope silly Billy and daft Bob keep away from this thread and we can do our bit to make other forum members a good few quid and have a bit of fun whilst doing so.
-
Another way to make good money is 'arbing' otherwise known as arbitrage. I make a lot of money doing this. I spend more time arbing these days as I've pretty much done all the free bet offers. Here's a guide to how it works.
http://www.hightechgambling.com/sport-betting/arbing-guide
Have a read. I'll go into it in a bit more detail later.
-
Isn't arbing illegal?
-
There's no way the bookies will let you get anywhere near enough on at the right price to make arbing worthwhile I'm afraid.
-
Arbing is not illegal, however the bookies don't like to be "arbed" because it usually means they have priced a market up wrong.
-
You make fair points. Constant arbing is surefire way to get your account closed. The way I do it is a bit different to the conventional way. I keep my stakes fairly low. Maximum £25 stake. I then do it in such a way as to break even if the selection doesn't win and I win more if the selection wins. I don't go for odds above 10.0. I don't go for obscure bets like football matches in Turkey. I keep to the Premier League mainly when doing football arbs but mostly I do it on the horses.
For example say I back a horse at 5.0 and lay it at 4.0 and it wins I make around £23 profit on a £25 stake. It's surprising how many arbs are out there if you know how to find them (on the horses).
I'll explain more later.
-
Brilliant posts so far. Great idea to start a thread like this.
Great suggestion BoomBoom, done this offer many times which much success.
I prefer the draw more than anything so that's where my jackpot will be.

The in play draw bet might be better off waiting to see if theres an early goal to maximise the odds available, aslong as the odds for a draw don't drop below evens you can't lose
-
You cant lose whatsoever.
-
You're wrong there RJHeader.
The only way you can lose is following Filo's advice.

Well a profitable night for me.
Good job we never took your advice aye Filo!
Get in the queue for any that followed. Great offer, once again taken advantage of.

I didn't give advice, I was just speculating, what was so wrong about what I said? Will you have to wait for Boom Boom to give you the answer?
By the way, it was a profitable night for me also ;)

I notice we've still never seen any of Mick's betting slips! Or RJ's or indeed the other part of Mick's split personality, BoomBoom. Funny that.

Just updating tonight's profit totals:
RJHeader +£86
BoomBoom +36
Filo -100
Very well done to all those in profit. Commiserations to Filo who, as I believe, is still waiting for a goal to cash in on the maximised odds. Hope that works out well for you in the end.

Good to see your still polluting the forum with your tripe Bob. I refer you to the Grand National thread... the moderators saved you from further embarrassment.
I think maybe an extended sabbatical is the best thing for you right now? You're getting increasingly antagonistic and downright deluded. My advice to you would be stop making a right royal fool of yourself on here, and actually attend the odd game or two. Oh, and lest I forget, stop talking absolute and complete b*llocks at every opportunity.
Good evening, cheers.

These threads get more bizarre by the minute, we have somebody who has more different personalities than Norman Bates, with the betting acumen of JP McManus. :coat:
I sometimes wonder if i have wandered into some 'Twilight zone'.

Too late it looks like Boom Boom and RJ have ruined it already with their petty little digs, but thanks for trying to at least keep one thread on track, it's a pity the children couldn't take your request onboard!

Well you nearly called it IC. 2 of the 3 ugly sisters rear their heads to send yet another thread where some people are trying to help others win a lot of ££, into chaos.
I suggest Bob you dont post on these sort of threads anymore, as you're quite clearly losing it. You say how you have muted IC1967, tried muting BoomBoom (Which apparently never worked but you havent quite gone into detail about that when pushed?) yet you continue to reply!!
And Filo, its interesting how you post about doing one thing then magic up a betslip with something different.
I had a lovely profit from this game, and also a big profit from all the other games last night. A tidy nights work all in all.
Now why dont you both leave this thread and leave the real gamblers to discuss the next way we will make even more people, even more money.
-
Sorry, I like a bet as much as the next man, the bet slip wasn't made by magic, it's genuine, wheres your bet slip?
I suggested that you might want to wait a little to see if there was an early goal, the odds would have lengthened if there was, it's a slight gamble as the in play odds would shorten as the game progressed, as Boom Boom said his way was NO RISK!
Now would you like to now state what was so wrong with what I said, or are you still waiting for Boom Boom to get back to you to give you an answer?
-
My bet slip is in my Bet365 account, where else would it be? Strange question.
You suggested that people wait for the early goal. Which never came.
If people followed my advice, they maximised their profit.
If people followed your advice, they wouldn't of done too good. Would they?
-
In an effort to get this thread back on track may I suggest Filo that you let everyone know that IC1967, RJHeader and BoomBoom are indeed 3 different people. Hopefully BobG will then leave this thread well alone and we can get on with putting a few quid in people's pockets.
Well done BoomBoom for highlighting the Bet365 offer (unfortunately they closed my account many moons ago). One thing I would say about Bet365 be very careful about arbing them. They have that many good offers and odds (particularly on horses) that it is an account to treasure.
Right, Betfair Sportsbook have a nice little offer going every day. It is in particular a good offer on Saturdays. If you back a winner at 3/1 or higher at SP they will give you a free bet up to a maximum of £25. Check under 'Promotions' for which horse race/races they are doing the offer on daily. They usually do one race per day and 2 or 3 meetings on a Saturday which means there are roughly 20 opportunities to make some money on Saturdays.
Today its the 5.10 at Newmarket. Currently the second and third favourites are 6.5 (or 11/2 in old money). Near to the off (anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 minute) I will assess the odds. If I can back a horse with Betfair at 6.5 and lay it off with another exchange NB not Betfair at say 6.6 I can make some decent money if it wins or break even if it loses.
Here's how I do it. I put £25 on a horse say at 6.5. I then lay the same horse on Smarkets at say 6.6 with a stake of £25.50. I use a stake of £25.50 as Smarkets take 2 % commission. So the race takes place and my horse loses. No problem. I've lost £25 at Betfair Sportsbook but I've won £25 at Smarkets so I've broken even. However if my horse had won I'd have got a £25 free bet. I'd have lost £140 at Smarkets but I'd have won £137.50 at Betfair. So all in all I've lost £2.50 to gain myself a £25 free bet.
Using the matched betting principles I can easily turn this free bet into £20 winnings (I usually get more). So if I've made £20 on the free bet and lost £2.50 on my initial bets I've made a £17.50 profit.
Saturday afternoons are the best day to do this offer as you get numerous chances to win a free bet. The difference in the odds between what you are backing and laying determines how profitable this system will be. The bigger the disparity the less you will make. Sometimes (not very often) I manage to lay the bets at odds less than what I've backed at which is even better. Usually though there will be a disparity the other way around. Too big a disparity and its not worth doing.
NB make sure the horse you back does not win at SP odds less than 3/1. If this happens you will not get a free bet. It's best to place your bets near to the off to stop this from happening. I like to place around 30 minutes from the off as quite often the odds will be quite close. If the horse wins at less than 3/1 I take it on the chin that I've lost a small amount on the transaction. My profits far outweigh any small losses.
The good news is that Bet365 (how I wish I still had an account) also do a similar offer on all Chanel 4 races. However they set the bar a bit higher at odds of 4/1. I believe they will give up to a £50 free bet. Their odds are great as well making finding matches quite easy.
Ladbrokes do the same as Bet365 but only up to £25.
If you've got all 3 accounts and like to bet on the horses on a Saturday then the above is a licence to print money. The downside is that you won't be able to go the Rovers home games.
-
Managed to back Great Glen at 6.0 and lay at 5.8.
-
Just before the off could have backed at 5.5 and laid at 5.4.
Came second so I broke even.
-
Seems as though your the king of alias Mick, I doubt for one minute that you don't have a bet365 account to use! But I conceded your right about what you said, they are great for odds. Just don't arb on south African race meetings, great odds, but they will 10% you after literally one bet.
Makes me wonder why they offer odds on such meetings, though I have a theory it could be like a honey trap. I mean who would throw big money in the UK on south African racing. I may be wrong, but I think bet365 are doing it to catch the arbers out.
-

Not like lonely old Bob trying to start it off again.

I'm thinking of picking 9 matches on Saturday that will have more than 1.5 goals in ,so how many bets/perms for 6 folds ,7 folds , 8 folds and a 9 fold so I can work my stake out , thanks in advance
-
Really Steez? Perhaps you should learn to read then. Try working out what the various posts on this thread actually say - and then place my post in its proper context. You'll learn a bit I'm sure.
Cheers

Draytonian.
You need the Pascal Triangle to work out how many perms you have
(http://ptri1.tripod.com/ptreal1r.gif)
1) Go to the row where the SECOND number is the number of selections you have.
2) Say, in your case, 9 selections, go to the row 1, 9, 36, 84...
3) The first number in that row is the number of 9-folds, second number is the number of 8-folds, etc
So, for your bet, you have
1 ninefold
9 eightfolds
36 sevenfolds
84 sixfolds
130 bets in total.

Looks like Bet365 will be doing an offer again on the Champions League later today. I'll be offering expert advice how to make some money on this later today.

Replying to your own post Mick? Pavlov really must have you by the short hairs.
Watch out for that rope mate. You're showing all the signs.

I am not into laying things, for me it's straight win and maybe have a saver on another.

Look. You just carry on working for the man and leave me to enjoy my very early retirement funded courtesy of the bookies. Early retirement is available to all if only they would follow my excellent advice. At the very least I can show people how to make a good regular second income and have a bit of fun at the same time.
I suggest you ignore this advice as you don't strike me as being a fun person. I think you would also probably struggle with the basic maths that is a requirement of making good steady profits.

Right here's how I'm going to do it. The same way as Boom Boom has so eloquently described previously.

Can we make this the official betting thread. A place for people to post their accas, tips and all things betting related.
Like the £1 e/w I've had on us to win the league. :scarf:
Last time I backed us with a free bet before the season started, we got promoted at Brentford. Had 2 quid on at 16/1. Best bet I've ever won!
-
That's a good idea, but I think it might be better to start a new betting thread and ask the mods to lock this one, which mostly continues arguments from elsewhere.
-
Ok, I'll look to start one going into next weekend.

Totesport offering 2/1 on Chelsea winning the Premiership. Get on quick if you fancy them. That price is easily the best around and will go quick.

Paddy power offering a £2 free bet each time your pick for top goalscorer in the Premiership scores. Just need to place £20 on your selection.

I don't fancy Chelsea at all this season, note the desperation of Jose pretending he isn't bothered about signing players, Costa is still having the same problems with injuries, Falcao seems to not have it any more.
If i was in to laying bets, Chelsea would be the one for me, everything points to them dropping back.
-
Thing is, I don't see any team quite good enough to take on Chelsea's mantle. United will be better this season but still have the goalkeeper issue hanging over them and look short up front.
Arsenal haven't noticeably strengthened, other than in goal, and City seem to have the same issues as last season.
Chelsea's to lose, I think
-
Chelsea's to lose as has been said. City won't win it under Pellegrini imo. United a defence short of challenging. Arsenal, a top striker, defender and midfield enforcer short.
Lets wait for Jose turning the screw early doors on the refs.
