No way was there anywhere near that many there today.
A figure plucked out of thin air to stop it looking pathetic IMO.
-
I too cannot believe there was 6211 in the stadium today.
Perhaps those on this forum who are close to the club can confirm how the amount was calculated?
-
Most clubs count how many season tickets have been sold, blackpool had 11k on other week and there was about 4k there
-
I thought that there were more home fans there today than at the Rochdale game?

they have to be counted in, and i cant see a club saying there is more there than there is as they would have to pay there taxes on that amount, it would be daft business

There wasn't less there, it just doesn't follow the "hundreds of fans are boycotting the games" party line does it?
-
I was at a few games at Belle Vue when it was clearly fuller than the attendance given.
-
The attendance is not out of line with recent home attedances: Colchester (6,330), Crewe (6,164), Wallsall (6,089).
-
6211?
Ah'm not goin agen while we're playing a defensive formation like that.
At home?
-
If there were 6211 fans there today, the ground should hold about 25.000.

When I worked in Rugby League, the crowd was made up of season tickets and the pay on the gate. VAT has to be paid in two ways, on the season ticket and then on the monies taken on the day. Many club secretaries would manipulate the pay on the day so as to pay less Vat, hence the crowd usually looking smaller than it actually was.
The Vat will have already been paid at this point in the season on ST's and if, as some think, many have given up for the season, then that will show more than the actual attendance. The other thing to affect a gate is when too many freebies are given away, this can also make the crowd look bigger than that stated.

There clearly were, as visibly there were no more in the stadium than there was for the last home game when the gate was 1000 less.
Attendance manipulation happens, did you go to Barnsley away in 2004?We filled the stand behind the goal yet they said only 2000 travelled.
-
The only way there was less than stated is if season ticket holders didn't turn up.
-
In the Gate prediction game I have been getting close (50 to 200 out) without ever winning and yesterday I had predicted 5012 and looking at the Crowd I was sure I had finally got it right
I was shocked to see I was 1199 out ! We will just have to believe the 6211

Looks like you now be getting the point, even season ticket holders are so board they are stating away!
-
It's the same at every club just about thou,at this stage at the season with nothing to play for

I don't think so, Season Ticket Holders have been staying away from games for a while now, even when there was a chance of reaching the play-offs
-
Well I think that says more about them than anything else
-
Can't understand that Ian,why would you? I agree we have been crap at home but when there is a chance of the play offs it baffles me
