...then don't worry, you can still follow it live on RoversPlayer.
So that Rovers exiles don't miss out entirely on a match featuring some of our favourite players, and managers, from the last decade the fanzine is taking over RoversPlayer today to provide live commentary.
We should be on air from 3:45pm.
To help us make the broadcast as personal as possible we want your interaction so do feel free to send us the following - either via email (popularstand@outlook.com) or to @vivarovers on Twitter
- Your favourite Coppinger memory
- The 'legends' you think are missing
- Your nominations for an 'anti-legends' team; the 10 worst players to line-up next to Coppinger
-
This is great glen! Good stuff matey! Hopefully you'll get a wide audience listening in!
-
Sorry to contradict you Al but I hope you have a very small audience listening in Glen - as I hope most people who are interested are at the game.
However anyone who isn't is certainly going to be well entertained. I saw Michele di Piedi play if that helps. I can't remember what he did, other than be subbed for Lewis Guy, but his name is in the programme. He is currently play for Nay Pyi Taw FC you know (it says on that there wiki).
-
Aye point taken wilts! Haha - but I hope you know what I meant - that those who can't get tune in to share with us that are going a great celebration of the legend that is copps26
-
Di Piedi, Guy Ipoua, Nick Fenton, Michael Timlin and Tomi Ameobi would be candidates for anti-legends.
-
I always think that Nick Fenton gets a lot of unfair stick. He wasn't brilliant but he wasn't terrible, should no way be in that bracket of players!
I'm going to chuck in Nic Priet to add to your list.
-
In fact I take that back, Herita Ilunga has the left back spot nailed down. Half the team would be made up of his team mates from that season.
-
Denis Sousa must be captain.
-
Mamadou Bagayoko
-

oh come on. Fenton was bloody terrible. It was a great source of frustration for me that he kept getting picked in front of brighty. I've never seen anyone back off so far from a man without making a tackle. He'd nearly be on his own goal line!
However, I do consider him to be a true rovers legend. He tried to run off a broken leg for goodness sake! Ha ha......
-
Herold Goulon, Reece Brown, Matt Killgallon
-
Jonson Clarke-Harris
-
Reece brown, Dennis Souza, robbie Blake, Shelton Martis or Alex Peterson are the worst I've seen over last few years
-
Shelton Martis wasn't shit. Always lame but not shit.
-
Mamadou Bagayoko
The one who signed at the same time, Bamogo, was just as big a waste of space. Though I thought Goulon took the biscuit as the worst of the Experiment signings.

The worst probably never got a game, Damien Plesis, and Lamine Diatta

You've taken all the low hanging fruit there TRB.
I will raise you though Adam Hughes and Gary Woods.
-
Shelton Martis wasn't shit. Always lame but not shit.
He was shit Gaz, come on. What made it worse was that he was lame and shit, and SOD had him on an eight year contract. Bet we are still paying him.
-
Steve Brooker. Scored a great goal but had a body like a biscuit. Seemed to be on the books for 16 years. "He'll be good when he's fit". Was never fit.
-
Shelton Martis wasn't shit. Always lame but not shit.
Martis was terrible every time he had the ball he was a mistake waiting to happen, did he carry on playing after he left us not heard anything about him
-
Damien Plessis was the worst we never saw...
-
Unfortunately I think an 'anti legend' and one of the worst players to line up with copps is actually playing today.. Martin Woods
-

I'll buy Adam Hughes, a real nothing player. Although Woods was no Sulli or Warrington he doesn't deserve to be in that company.
-
Uros Predic? He was in Copps era wasn't he? Terrible memory, so I can't properly remember.
-
Predic was one of the conveyor of questionable players recruited by Penney to keep us going following the Division Four title win.
Copps clearly the pick of the bunch.
Can I raise for consideration in this context Phil McGuire and his colourful private life?

If you are not having Woods then you must accept Tonny Neilsen.

Emile Sinclair, Wayne Thomas and lee fowler.

Tonny Neilsen falls into the same category as Plessis and Diatta in that he never actually made a first team appearance. He held the record for being the most named substitute who had never got on the field until Jon Maxted beat it by a country mile.
-
Legends who will not be there. Paul Heffernan, Dave Mulligan, Graeme Lee, Jason Shackell.
-
And macca - I reckon he'd have played if he weren't wanted by every man and his dog!
-
Haha. Would love to see Macca come running out of one corner of stadium, run up wing with ball, score and then run straight out of other corner of ground into waiting car, all with police following Benny Hill style.
Don't think him and Copps ever played together but the biggest miss is surely Tierney. Would also be good to see Jamie Paterson, although he is down in Oz I think.
-
Is there any chance Sean McDaid will hobble on to the pitch in full kit at any point today?
Always felt he never really got a proper send-off from the fans.
-
We game McDaid a silver plate a few seasons back at a home game.
-
Fair enough, I forgot that! I guess the insurance payout would preclude him even hobbling on for 5 mins anyway.
-
Legends who will not be there. Paul Heffernan, Dave Mulligan, Graeme Lee, Jason Shackell.
Kevin Horlock?
-
Friend, Spurr and Ravenhill (not sure if he's playing though?.)
-
Another anti legend has to be Justin Jackson and Rigoglioso
-
Thanks for replies. On the subject of the game... can anyone spare a couple of minutes now to check if Rovers Player is broadcasting for me?
-
Off air for me atm Viva. This is at 1509.
BobG
-
Cheers Bob, anything now folks?
-
The only vhoices I can see are the MAn City and Newcastle games. I'm looking under the live matches listing in the top row of pages. I cant see any other page where we mnight be showing. I've just reloaded the page too Glenn but nowt showing still.
Bob
-
And now the only choice at all is Man City.
Bob
-
Cheers Bob, just checked it out and the match will only come up as an option at 3:45pm, so we'll have to check then. Thanks for testing for me. Fingers crossed it all works in half an hour.
-
Ok. I'll see if I can find it then.
Bob
-
Still nothing visible on my screen Glenn. This is at 1552.
Bob
-

-

Hope so!
BobG
-
Let's hope so bob lol kids have home and are enjoying it but I'm stuck at home
-
If there are more than 1,500 Rovers fans here I would be surprised! Disgrace supposed Rovers fans an absolute disgrace!
-
We've identified the error with Player. Working to fix it. Hopefully be online soon. Game still yet to start though.
-
Good Glen. I was just goons say still nothing showing up on RP. 'll keep looking tho.
Bob
-
No sure I agree it's a disgrace, yes the players are legends to fans who have been following for years,to the very recent ones they mean not much to if paying 23 quid whatever it is
-
Access the coverage via the News Feed on Player. Should be live now. Anyone hear anything?
-
No just very faint
-
I'd have made it free with donations its the price that is the issue. Bad decision there as it looks a good line up too.
-
Think 10 and 5 would have got people there
-
the volume is very very low
-
Can't hear it
-
You can tell they are speaking but can't hear a word they are saying. How fitting that rovers player is not working.
-
in fact it is just embarrassing and i think i would rather be at belle vue with 1200 real donny fans
-
Someone needs to communicate to Vivarovers that no one can hear him - he's going to do the whole thing for nothing.
-
Was going to say something amusing but askern might tell me to F off so I will refrain
-
If u tell me how t contact Viva I will gladly do it
-
All I can hear is mild static... It's a shame. And poor old Glenn doing all the work too.....
Bob
-
Can hear his voice but only just x
-
I think this sums the end of season up
-
Huge apologies for the lack of volume. Trust me I'm trying everything here.
Going to have one more go to get us up and running for the second half shortly.
-
Well done for sorting
-
If there are more than 1,500 Rovers fans here I would be surprised! Disgrace supposed Rovers fans an absolute disgrace!
Harsh comments towards those not in attendance today.
-
What was the crowd?
-
No official announcement but I would guess at 3,500 and like I say only 1,500 of those were actual Rovers fans! I don't think my comments are harsh at all! This was a day to celebrate Rovers players and managers from the past 10-15 years and also to celebrate a player that has been with us for the past 11 seasons! How often is that likely to happen?? The tickets were £21!! How much money would u pay for any game of football?? How much would you pay for a ticket to see a band?? How much would you pay for a bottle of whisky?? etc..... this was a real chance to give JR a proper send off, to thank SOD and ROK, to thank all of the Legends that played today! The fact is today showed me how shallow and pathetic some of our fans are!! I understand some fans live a long way a way and I understand some fans have families and simply can't afford it but I'm sorry there should have been more fans there today! They missed a truly great occasion and missed the chance to thank the players that I would genuinely class as Legends of the time I have been a supporter!!
-
Behave yourself.
Are you seriously saying that there were over 2000 screaming girls there today?
I would be surprised if there were 1500 Tomlinson fans amongst the crowd at most.
-
You obviously were not sat in the East Stand then where at least 60-70% were screaming girl's!!!
-
The pricing was just wrong, for charity matches like this it should have been 10quid and 5 quid,we get 6k home fans for a league match, the season is over already so there is no buzz around the town
-
I personally don't agree at all! The price was a little high but at the end of the day it was for charity and Copps and his team had certain overheads to make up! IMO opinion many many Rovers fans missed out on a truly great spectacle today and that's something they will never get to witness again!! I'm glad I was there and I would have paid three times the asking price to have seen it! Well done Copps and his team for organising such a great event!!
-
You obviously were not sat in the East Stand then where at least 60-70% were screaming girl's!!!
Wasn't the point made in an earlier thread that there had been an effort to separate the donny fans (west stand) and the 1-D fans (east stand), so as to satisfy both sets of fans? If there were only 60-70% of 1-D fans in the east then there weren't as many as I thought - I thought that about 95% in there were 1Ders and the other 5% just unfortunate! Granted there were a few 1Ders in the west, but not many - I took my 7yr old daughter and her 9 year old friend to their first football match and they arrived wanting to see Louis but left singing the names of Copps, billy, stocky etc.... They want to come again so I acheived my objective!
:welcome:
-
I think because I ordered my tickets to be delivered in Derby they assumed I was a 1d fan - was surrounded by them!
-
I bought my ticket 10 minutes after they went on sale! I have no problem at all with their being 1D fans in the crowd none what so ever! The same as I have no issue with Louis helping to publicise our club unlike some on this forum! How would anyone know if someone was a Rovers fan or a 1D fan to allocate tickets to the the East or West Stand??
-
Attendance 3922
-
Not a bad effort then,I would hope the overheads would not be to high for a charity game, not that I have a clue really,I just think overpriced my daughters went And loved it but they do rovers games
