Ben Stokes innings yesterday set it up for victory today, and that snorter of a ball to McCullum today was the icing on the cake for him

Who needs KP?

My thoughts entirely gloster... Kevin who??

I bet the Australian's are quaking in their boots , NOT . Australia will win the series by at least by two tests 2-0,3-1 etc.

Don't think they would be quaking in their boots even if KP was playing.

It's difficult to be optimistic about England's chances. They don't have a settled opening pair and lack a quality spinner and a seriously fast bowler. Mind you, going into the last Ashes the Aussies were in disarray but they competed well and then won the next series comfortably.
I think the coaching appointment is a good one. They should have appointed him before they went back to Moores.

John, incompetance, muddle and confusion are rife throughout the game. As you know, Alex has been part of representative level cricket for several years now. I have had to suffer the disastrous (lack of) organisation, confused messages, changes in approach, changes to objectives, mixed messages and downright incompetance throughout that time. It's not as if it's limited simply to Gloucestershire cricket either. I got so hacked off with them that Alex and I upped sticks and moved to Wiltshire about a year back now. But they are equally poor.
I know this is junior level cricket, but these kids are the future of the game. There are a fair number of seriously good players. Some of them will be making their first team debuts inside the next 4 years. Yet they are all being continually p issed about. The game is an organisational shambles. I'm not surprised, at all, about the stupidities of Moores, his predecessors and his successors. There is an apparently permanent lack of strategic direction and objectives.

PS. Later. Actually, Dad's talk as folk do. Although it's hearsay, I've heard very similar tales from fathers of kids who are in the Middlesex, Worcestershire, Somerset (to a somewhat lesser degree) and Hampshire set ups as well. Yet all these clubs are following whichever basic path it is that has been laid down by the powers that be at Lords today. I'd love to know how the northern clubs deal with their youngsters.
