Tin Tin, crazy little f**ker but funny with it, not seen him for ages, think he moved to the South West or am I thinking of Deno?
-
Deno definitely moved to the south west and put in an appearance or two at Yeovil games, I've heard he's moved back up here now.
-
Tin tin moved to the midlands, think it was liecester way, not see him in years
-
You don't see me there much anymore.
I'm sure Denno was at Stoke with J***o.
They were up there with Abbot and Costello, Eric and Ernie, Jason and Kylie as a double act!
Always entertaining to put it mildly.
-
Paul Gilligan was a regular fan / photographer throughout our Conference days .
-
Paul was a fan for a long time, going back to the sixties. Unfortunately someone at the club pissed him off big style and as a result he's severed all links with DRFC. He doesn't go to games any longer. Sad really.
-
Got me thinking what ever came of the old director Peter Wetzel? Excuse spelling if I got it wrong. I knew he sold his shares around 2009/2010 but wondered if he had ever resurfaced.
Always found him polite when I spoke to him.
-
John something, the guy who used to video all the matches back when we were in the Conference. He's disappeared. He did get himself a nice new lady friend some years back now but he's disappeared from my Mum's life too - he was a general handyman and fix it bloke who did shed loads in her house. Mind you, he walked off with most of her tools in the process. And plenty of mine.

-
Pirate & Ade, the two who were always face painted up. Not so much Ade, did see him at a few games last season.
-
Does anyone remember a bloke called "Haigy" who used to wear a long blonde wig and a red and white cardigan.
He was a regular in the 60's and a kind of leader of the home end and away fans.
There was also a girl called Sue who went to loads of away games with Haigy and his band of regulars.
-
Haighy (Brian) lived in Hexthorpe and seemed to disappear about 1970. His elder brother (Pete) was a lot taller and ended up in a wheelchair but still attended games until a few seasons ago.
Some years ago Ken Avis told me that Sue used to meet her son off the coach after away games. Maybe he still goes.
-
Ken Avis I haven't seen him for a while???
-
Santa ???

I remember them, Sue was fit.
-
I remember Sue. Sue Hirst.
Allegedly, once she was on the back seat of the coach to an away match. Got her books out and flashed them to the following motorists. Nearly caused a pile up apparently.
-
Boobs..not books! Ruddy predictive texts.
-
I think she did it more than once, always on back seat of coach with same lads every game.
-
I was on the us that day.
-
I remember Paul Gillian as a kid. I always used to remember him walking into the sponsors lounge at BV after a game and filling his denim jacket pockets with tins of John Smiths then leaving swiftly.
Peter wetzel went busy didn't he after M&S cancelled his companies contract with them.
-
Wetzel was SR Gent. Think back when their big site near station closed. Probably around time he rolled out of Rovers. On and off he put a lot into the club. Top bloke.

Hound...Were you on the train to Halifax when Sue was laying on the luggage rack, she had done a few of the lads that journey, yes very popular and lived I believe in Hyde Park, cracking looking.
Haighy did himself an injury the story being he got set on fire, When I was on the beat in Kirk Sandall, he used to live near the school on Graham Rd, not seen him for years but last time he was failing sadly. Him and Archie were a right pair, Archie being from Goldthorpe and had a strange resemblance to the late Paul Shane from Mexborough.
Good Days them.
-
Don't know if "Uredz" (Mark) attends games anymore with his pal, who's name escapes me. Both used to post a lot on here, but haven't heard owt from them in ages. I did spot Mark going into Sainsbury's at Edenthorpe a few days ago, but didn't get the chance to speak to him as we just said hi in passing. Used to enjoy their posts, very funny the pair of 'em.
-
Never seen mad mick at Rovers, ever.
-
He goes everytime we play Leeds...
-
I doubt he even comes into this part of the forum.

No bally, i didnt go on the train to matches, always on the Yorkshire Traction and later on the motorbike.
When i started playing every Saturday in my late teens i only went to mid week games for many years.
Interesting to see Archies' name because i had forgotten about him.
-
What about Winston and a guy called Vic, also remember a cockney lad called Mick.
-
I know a good 10+ Wednesday fans who use to come and watch us week in week out back in the conferance. As we progressed and became equal to the owls they dwindled off. More to the point i wonder if our hidtoric streaker throughout the conferance years and gave me a full sight of his sausage and mash at stoke is still in attendance and has grown up a little? if anyone knows..

Last time I saw him he looked like he'd come straight from hiring pedlos on a beach
-
As a teenager, I remember someone called Jock that ran a coach to away games
-
What about Trevor Frost and the twins from Balby? The original Pie Man knocked about with them.

A few Donny were properly stitched up that day by all accounts. Didn't OB march a load of Tranmere straight past Paris gate with the express intention of nicking Tetley & co for being in the vicinity of their mob?
-
Not like SYP that is it? Corrupt and rotten to the core
-
It's gone on for decades CK. A mate of mine joined the South Yorkes plod in the mid 70's. He was a very intelligent guy - but he couldn't think of anything else to do at the time. ever since he's always said that at least half of the coppers he worked with would be locked up inside if they weren't wearing the uniform, that the highlight of every week was the Saturday night punch up in Sheffield town centre and that stitching up people was considered the right thing to do if they couldn't find the evidence legitimately.
My mate went in a reasonable small 'l' liberal type. He left the cops with the attitudes and mind set of died in the wool fascist.
Cheers

-
Trev Frost goes to the odd match, but is more involved with junior coaching...girls I think. Not seent the twins for years.
Does anyone remember the small dumpy kid...maybe from Mexborough way that use to go everywhere in the conference but then started going to watch Rotherham when we got in to the championship?

A couple of the Tranmere lads are acquaintances of mine so I had a few beers with them in the Masons after the game and offered to walk back to the station with them, but they said they could find their way.
I would have taken them down West Laith Gate and avoided Paris Gate, but the SYPD in their infinite wisdom picked them up and paraded them down St Sep past PG where there were a few out celebrating a certain Donny White's birthday. Complete stitch-up.
-
Monty, another crazy little man, not seen him since he got himself into a beer/medication tangle outside a pub in Stevenage during the conference years.
Palo looks like Mick McCarthy nowadays
-
filo was it jock Walsh? I'm sure he ran the coach I went to oswestry
-
Is that monty that looked like Fred West and always had a gang of juniors with him in Jimmy Hayes
-

I might be wrong, but I seem to recall that Monty had to go on a short holiday due to some minor indiscretion
-
What about Trevor Frost and the twins from Balby? The original Pie Man knocked about with them.
Trev is my nephew and occasionally if I have a ticket he'll go but his daughter was doing well for the Belles juniors and he prefers watching her.
I think that one of the twins met a girl from Preston or somewhere and gave footy up for her.
-
Anyone know where Too tall is these days? Not heard about him in ages!
-
What was the name of the kid that goes out with the Donny girl on Big Brother. Sure he used to be a regular.
-
yes he did muttley he lived on caravan park in Askern before going on that Holliday lol
-
smiler, jock, dabbby and his brother, Monty, cracker, a lad nicknamed gypo, all from same era avnt seen these for years
-
Smiler was involved in the Rovers juniors teams a couple of years ago
-
Where did Pie man go?
-
Brian Haigh unfortunately died in 1992, it was his older brother Dennis who set fire to himself and is now in a wheelchair.
-
think there was a kid with plenty of rattle knocked about with monty, mouthing off away at Gillingham and got put on his arse sparko - didnt see him much after that
-

Is that the lap dancing bar now or the church?
It was the church on the corner of Duke St. The lap dancing club which I think is now closed used to be The Lord Nelson on the corner of Printing Office St.

I saw Jockey a few weeks ago in the Rum Rooms having Sunday dinner, didn't get chance to talk though.

I told you mad mick doesn't visit this part of the forum as he didn't respond to the bait. This clearly shows he doesn't have any interest in Rovers and is a WUM.

Interestingly Nudga, our Resident Idiot has been conspicuous by his absence this last few days. Off on his jollies perhaps? Fallen of a cliff? Or even committed hari-kiri hopefully?

Happy to confirm Junior Jockey is still in attendance (nowhere near as junior anymore! ) and is bringing the next generation of j j. Kevs alive and well -still looks out for Rovers but his only keepmoat attendance was for Elton John !

I'm on there. Far left, three from the back. Happy days.
Also, we must've been one of the most consistent replica shirt wearing bunches in the league around that time. Remember the Tranmere "giant teatowel" comments? Brilliant.

-
“ Big Ginner “ who used to a painter, I’ve seen him this season
-
What about Sturdy Himself?
-
Pie-man. Bless him.
Hope SCWK is well as well. Used to be regular on here but has long disappeared.
-
Think he got tired of his scouting recommendations being ignored by the club.
-
Throwback to the time we actually signed one of them in the shape of Abdoulaye Meite.
-
What about Sturdy Himself?
I still get sporadic abuse from him on Twitter - and Carlos the Jackal, too; no sign of The Pope or Purpleheid though....

Winston got arrested at an away game Bradford I think, can't say I saw him after that.

Not just any triathlons either. He's an Ironman which given his Rovers watching physique is a bloody marvellous achievement.

What about that lad who arranged plane over Hull City when we won title in 2004 and went on Look North?
-
I dunno if you're on about the same lad but one of those who organised that is a good mate of mine - posts on here occasionally as 'Gallagher lad.'
He's a successful business man and lives in Leicester - one of his neighbours is in kasabian.
He has a box at The King Power.
-
Maybe. I was thinking of the lad who had three great points to make on TV but only got to two...
Did a cracking job organising that plane. From memory they did not find it funny.
-
Rob the Rover was in that same look north clip, can't remember who else was on it now - there's a clip somewhere.
-

Me?
-
Rob, have you still got the clip?
-
No mate. Have you? Tanya Arnold was lovely. A right laugh before filming the clip.
I think Chris Black means Dave "3 Reasons" Haycock who came up with the original idea. I think Dave moved to live near Leicester and mostly goes to watch them now with his kids. Not seen him at the KMS for ages.
-
Yep it was the guy who ran out of his three points live on TV. Given what folk say above this has clearly not stopped his rise to global business domination.
-
Yeah it was - I didn't want to name him personally as he has made a big business name for himself via his company that people on here have possibly had dealings with through the ppi claims over the last 10 years hence why I just referred to him as Gallagher Lad.
He does indeed live out of Leicester, a neighbour to one of the guys in kasabian and has an exec box at Leicester - I think already said all that tho!
Am dead chuffed for what he's done - he was and still is a good mate of mine who I convinced when he was younger to get out of intake/town moor and go to uni to study.
He told me about his business idea for ppi claims walking across the fireman's
Field (as we called it when we were younger) to BV for that Arsenal Coca-Cola cup game. It sounded to me at the time like a proper good idea - how right he was!
He was a great striker in the day too - he was our top scorer in the Sunday morning prem side I ran (from uni tho) when he was only 16. He's 4 years younger than me.
Rob - did you not 're-find' and post that clip to the vsc directors bit on here a couple of years back?
-
For fans from the 1960s, does anyone know what happened to the two women who used to go home and away, big Stuart Robertson fans, Astrid and Daphne, remember travelling to Southend one bank Holiday by train with them both.
-
Great trip down memory lane there, some proper characters
-
I'm sure I saw Daphne in the 90s on an away coach. I can't remember seeing Astrid or her husband after the late 60s.
-
What about Dan who ran the buses with paul
I still go sit on the back row with my son , near the press box next to Paul.
-
Anyone still see Sif? Lost touch with him a while back when he lost the love for Rovers and moved to Manchester.
Still alive and well, Gary. Moved down to Cheshire now. Wife, kid, dog. Standard stuff.
Hope you're doing well?
-
Anyone remember the 'Donny Dressers' in the mid-late 80's? They could be a bit of a handful if memory serves me right. They were regulars on the Pop side at games.
Also, a band from Bentley called 'Skin Deep' made up of local Skins who used to go and stand beneath the Main Stand at Belle Vue. I think they went to games for about 3-4 years then just stopped. They were absolute top lads. Not seen them for about 30 years though, but apparently one of them went off to play in Pete Doherty's band a few years ago.
-

All good stuff then. Have you bought a Range Rover yet?
-
Sadly not, no. And i wouldn't. Awful things.
We bought an estate car. Very sensible.
I do own no less than three Barbour coats, and two pairs of Hunter wellies though... so i'm a proper c*nt even without the Range Rover.
-
Oh aye, I haven't seen Bikka for ages. Used to live Huddersfield way out, sorted the West Stand Barmy Army flags out.
When Rob, Stu and a few other sorted our South Stand Barmy Army flag (complete with magnets !) it was bikka who had two or three flags - nice guy but where is he ?

I used to see them all over the country following Rovers. They were more Scawthorpe than Bentley.
A bit like the Redskins,(the singer lived in Cantley for a few years.)
Mick, the lad from Skin Deep got a job in a shop on Carnaby Street and started up by being a roadie at that time, then stepped in for somebody to drunk to play,or didnt turn up.
I picked a paper up about 14 years ago, could have been the Sun(:blush),and on the gossip page was a photo of Mick holding up a very w@#nk#d Amy Winehouse!
-
More in the line of posters rather than supporters, but where's RedJ lately? I used to like his posts.
-
Quite a bit on You Tube of Skin Deep. I was in Mick Whitnalls year at Don Valley, good lad. Quite a few Scawthorpe skins in those days, mid 80s. Mick played with Filney Quaye as well as Babyshambles. Think he lives on the south coast now and has been in and out of rehab.
