OK Short story
I have kicked BT into touch and joined PlusNet (yes I know they are owned by BT) and my BT email address will have to go unless I cough up £1.67 every Month to BT
I am going to have a GMail or Hotmail address in case I change again in the future and I then would like to transfer my Emails from BT to whichever of the above 2 I pick so is there a way of doing this please.
(I know I could Forward e-mails from BT to the new service (when I set it up) but there are "hundreds" and it would take forever)
If there is not a way to do the above can someone tell me how to save the e-mails on a Flash Drive or other device just in case I need them in the future - and could they then be imported to my new Service
Then Part 2 can my Contacts be transferred from BT to the new Service as well please ?

do you use a microsoft email program you have on your p e.g. windows live mail or outlook?
you can set both accounts up in there and then simply drag emails from one account to another.

Hi bjw ... this could be like puling teeth as I know f all about f all !
I have now joined Microsoft and have an Outlook account. Have you the time or inclination to describe the next step please ?
Hope its easy !

Download something like Mozilla Thunderbird or Outlook programme itself. Should from there be able to log into both accounts. After that, presumably you'll be able to drag and drop folders from one to the other - although I've never had to do it so I wouldn't know for sure.
