Reminds me, probably very illogically, of the old saying that in the Occident we construct whilst in the Orient they contrapt.

WOW, never seen an explosion as big as that before, they're saying it was a gas station which ignited two oil tanks which then ignited a chemical factory. I don't even want to guess how many dead.

It's crazy and a bit scary watching it.  A fair few deaths no doubt.

I remember Flixborough too. Not sure it was equivalent to 21 tons of TNT going up though...

The flixborough explosion was the ignition of a very large vapour cloud, it was estimated to be the equivalent of 15 Tons of TNT going up

I was in Maastricht and I can still remember the shaking of the buildings and windows

That explosion also resulted in the loss of life sadly, Dutch.  I can't even imagine how very scary it must be when these massive explosions happen.

I had the unfortunate experience of being 2 or 300 yards away from an IRA car bomb that killed two Off duty soldiers, that was loud and very scary, 21 Tons of TNT must have been deafening

I was playing football about 5 miles away from Flixborough at the time it went up, believe me it was loud.
