Post by: acko on August 13, 2015, 08:54:21 pm
bad goal to give away afraidgoalie must take his share of the blame with both McCullough and jones, williams interesting prospect could do with a partner upfront.wellens passing short sharpe and accurate, middleton very poor.copps out of position, jones defensively quite good but booting ball up top for Williams too many times, but overall interesting.definate pen and sendig off,

Middleton hasn't been amazing but he hasn't been terrible. He's made a couple of mistakes and gave a few passes away but they were mostly forward passes. He's also created a few chances. Better option than Furman just passing it sideways retaining it, the kid takes risks and is a complete midfielder. The experience will do a lot for him.

Agree about crossing though. Forrester can't cross, only Copps can. If only we still had Cotterill.

To me Middleton is a better Furman, much cheaper with years ahead of him. He's on track for a solid professional career.

excellent penaltys, deserved the win, wellens for me man of match but copps second half and Tyson when he came on run him close just one observation thought Williams dropped out of game when Tyson came on but sure play more together and keep copps wide its promising good luck to them.special mention for turnbull showed what we missed last season.good night

not trying to prove anything hoola I was asked to give my opinion of the game and I gave it as I saw it not through a onesided vision.overall the game was good to watch and the rovers was deserving winners.but in my own opinion too many players playing out of position, copps in the first half, ovina although he played well, wellens and middleton in the same team don't know, thought middleton gave ball away too often view that's been shared by many maybe the nerves of occasion don't know I do know hes better than that.crossing from the wings very poor exception being copps in the second half(far better player on the wing) stuckman I know is better than he showed but there again probably cold with the lack of work he had to do.felt for Williams in first half lack of support, but interestingly seemed to drop out of game when Tyson came on.pleased for rovers cup draw could have been better but could be winnable.  as for me I don't support any club I watch football its what I do I bet on football,i have chose to spread my wings away from rovers nothing against team or manager but like a lot more don't like the way club is run and the total lack of investment since overall control went to bramhall and co,as I have said previously I will always look for rovers results and wish them well, promotion this season or even playoffs no I don't think so.

A couple of things, that was the best copoinger has played in quite a while,
Evina and forester swapped constantly throughout the game it's irrelevant where they started, forester is a lot better on the left cutting inside onto his right.

Acko probably thinks we've got Kate Middleton in the middle.

Very encouraged personally especially since we still have Chaplow and N'Guessan to integrate and give us more creatiivty and variety midfield . You must be happy now you are no longer a supporter Acko . Why dont you give us the same opportunity now and also become an ex poster .

Almost 100% of the unhappy ones are Leeds fans because they were not and dare I say never will be COE

Being pedantic as lots of people like to be on here why do still they sing it in the present tense ? Surely we WERE Champions Champions of Europe is more grammatically correct even if factually it is still wrong !

Strange how people see the game, I'm a huge Copps fan but thought he had a poor game, gave the ball away so much, especially in the 1st hour, improved as game went on though

Copps was my man of the match. I thought he looked a consistent threat, more so out wide an drifting in. There youngsters were wrong footed by him so many times. The way that he ghosts past players with the slightest body movement is excellent. If he could score more consistently he woul have played for a good prem side.

Middleton looked solid. He has a good powerful build for such a young lad. His passing let him down once or twice last night but he was playing against good championship players in a competitive game. He will only get better.

I didn't really see much of Wellens he seemed a bit peripheral to me.

That was the first I've seem of Stuckmann and although he was at fault for their goal he seems fairly steady.

Overall though I think we are looking strong for this season. In an ideal world a good right back and maybe another quality cm and we should be right up there.
