I will be amazed if they get anything other than a solid round of applause when they run out.

What follows will probably depend of which team scores first.

I just get the feeling that some of our fans are pre occupied with jumping on the teams back rather than support them, woe be tied the player who makes the first mistake!

Team: Stuckmann, McCullough, Taylor-Sinclair, Jones, Butler, Wellens, Coppinger, Chaplow, Main, Williams, Evina.

Bench: Marosi, Lund, Middleton, Paul McKay, Mandeville, Carberry, Whitehouse.

So two changes. Jones and Main for Mackenzie and Middleton. Mackenzie appears to be injured as he's not on the bench.

The bench is nothing short of awful,if he has spent all the budget it's either very poor management or  the budget is no bigger than last years

Apparently Ikpeazu tore him a new one on Saturday , so he might still be a tad sore.   :)

Yep and that's not the way.  Not going tonight, the crowd will be telling.

Interesting to see if 442 works. I'm not convinced by it.  Who's going to break up play in midfield tonight? That's a worry.

Let's see if we get a reaction.

Or perhaps both?.
We're lucky Ipswich aren't putting a first 11 out. Could have been embarrassing.... again.

I think like many, your 3/4s full glass is looking half empty to you

Leeds were full strength bar Turnbull, Wooton, Daukara and Antonucci promoted from the bench. We owned Leeds, why not similar against a relatively full strength Ipswich?

FWIW there are 4 Ipswich players in their starting 11 tonight who have been in the last two games for them - Gerken, Smith, McGoldrick and Pitman. Emannuel played as sub, and Coke, Tabb and Toure have been on the bench. Their bench tonight contains Crowe, Maitland-Niles, Fraser, Sears who all played in their last two games. Not exactly their youth team is it.

It is what it is. Also concerned about the midfield, whether Chaplow and Wellens can see enough of the ball and use it well. The players around them must work their balls off to give them options.

Work hard boys! Show us you can play.

That's not my point.  It is a young and inexperienced bench yes, but you made suppositions about our budget when nothing has been said in public?

I do think even with a fully fit squad we would be short a RB, but now Luke has an injury and two decent forwards are out, and no sign of Keegs or N'Guessan, and how bad is MacKenzie's injury?  We need loanees, at least 2 IMHO, by Saturday.

That said, we are winning aren't we?

It is an inexperienced bench, which you may say is poor for what we should have.  The only criticism I have is that we haven't replaced injured players with loanees yet.  That's down to the manager - there are no indications coming out of the club about no budget!

Anyway, back to tonight's game...

Great to get a goal from open play, and Williams deserves some reward.

Aye, at the risk of grapes most sour, I'm not bothered about a cup run. Appreciate that there's money to be made and all that, but would rather we focused on the task in hand: the league.

Seem to have played well enough (though it looks like they seriously came into it towards the second half and BFG kept us in it), and we've scored a goal. That'll do me.  :scarf:

Why is it a big problem assuming we lose this game, Ipswich are a top championship side and we took them to ET.

There is no need for excuses if we are beaten by a better side?  The issue for me is the performance itself leading up to Saturday.

He can't be happy now, can he?  Forrester, Tyson, Mccullough, Jones, MacKenzie, Keegan, N'Guessan all out - Of course he won't be happy

If everyone was fit, or almost fit, yes maybe. But not now, especially Forrester and Tyson.  Why do you keep making comment on the budget?

We've too many first choice players out. Just have to plug the gaps with a couple of top class players - I'd say more but there is a limit to how many players we can have. This will cost but without that we will struggle over the next few weeks.

If having this number of players injured means we're not competitive then we haven't got enough players, and/or we don't have the right staff to keep our players fit and healthy.

We seem to have this every season though?!

Exactly, and not knowing the extent of several injuries this is where we must get more players in, and as soon as possible.  What PD does, or doesn't do next, will be very telling.

Thought we ran out of steam at the end and after going 2-1 down hadn't a clue how to get back into the game.

Williams ran and ran
Stuckmann kept us in it at times, looked as though he thought there second was missing and let it go in.

A lot better performance , which was good to see

Where am I defending the manager?  Injuries aside, I have always agreed we need a RB, and I say PD MUST get loanees in now.

All I am saying is there has been no comment from the club, or PD, or media speculation about the budget situation.

I'm not worried about tonight's result.

no, not now.  I have said he must act, several times..

Can we actually shoot on target ?

4 times out of 14, according to the BBC

I looked on the bbc website to check the stats and of the L1 and L2 clubs playing last night only Notts County with 6 had more shots on target than us.

What is needed is clinical finishing and/or creating good chances.
It must be better to convert two goals from two on target than say have a dozen on target and score none.
