Globally, we have lived through an era of unprecedented growth in the quality of life for the very poorest, which has to be good news both morally and practically.
Now, if we could just sort out our own developed societies, so that the proceeds of wealth creation were more evenly spread among moderately paid people, instead of obscenely concentrated in the pockets of the very richest, we'd be living in a pretty decent world.

If the celebrity's who appeal, gave a quarter of their wealth, poverty wouldn't be an issue, they appeal to many who can't help, whereas they could.
