Rovers actually lost the last encounter with Cambridge just over a decade ago in the LDV Vans trophy. The season before that we secured a second successive promotion to third tier with a 2-0 victory over The U's at Belle Vue.
I'm confident we'll win tomorrow and equal the number of times we've lost to Cambridge :scarf:

#DRFC STARTING XI: Stuckmann, Lund, Butler, Evina, Alcock, Taylor-Sinclair, Grant, Coppinger (c), Middleton, Tyson, Williams #drfc
#DRFC BENCH: Marosi, Stewart, Whitehouse, J.McKay, MacKenzie, McCullough, Keegan

The bench is stronger than of late but is a little short of attacking options. Hopefully we won't need them!

Service isn't good enough with player and never has been, which is why I cancelled my subscription ages ago. It does seem as though the Cambridge press box is under prepared as Liam Hoden has tweeted he's having to use his laptop on his knee.
-
Sound now on player
-
I have Radio Sheffield on iplayer. This works for cup games but not league fixtures..
-
Showing all goals as they happen on bbc1 if anyone is interested :bbscarf:
-
Unfortunately on Radio Sheffield we have got Mickey w**ker again. Why does he have to call us Doncaster?
He comes from Doncaster the prat. Does he find it that difficult to call us Rovers?
-
1-0 for Cambridge after 24 minutes :(
-
Awful defending. We concede a penalty, Stuckman saves it and the defenders all stand and watch as the Cambridge players react and put the ball into the net.
-
Penelty saved by Stuckmann but follow up put in. Commentates on BBC didn't seem wholly convinced
COYR
-
BBC commentators think the decision to give penalty was harsh
-
Interesting because the Radio Sheffield commentators think it was nailed on.
-
BAD BAD attitude from Rovers players, stood with their hands on their hips on the edge of the Box :crying:,It one of my pet hates,Defending players should be ready to pounce on a rebound/save.Always have a player or 2 stood away several yards out the box, timing their run with the taker to get a yard or 2 advantage,GGRRRR! it annoys me.
Rant over,Well done with the original save stucky(not surprising with his record),shame some players let you down.Come on Donny lets get back in this. :scarf: :scarf:
-
Another typical Rovers FA cup performance by the sounds of it.
-
ATS got a foot to the ball and the Cambridge player fell over him.
Never a pen.
Even the BBC pundits say it was harsh and that from where the ref was standing it would have been hard to have a clear view.
-
Unfortunately on Radio Sheffield we have got Mickey w**ker again. Why does he have to call us Doncaster?
He comes from Doncaster the prat. Does he find it that difficult to call us Rovers?
As a BBC commentator, MW is supposed to be impartial so even though he has Rovers connections he has to be unbiased.
-
I'm listening to BBC Radio Cambridge commentary, we sound as though we're not at the races today, bollockings required at HT, I wonder if Fergies got his dads hairdryer

That is rubbish.
Do the commentators when Sheffield Wednesday or Sheffield Utd play refer to them as Sheffield?
errrrrr no I thought not.

Fergie will sort it out at HT, we will win this.
It isn't rubbish, it is fact.
They don't call the teams you mentioned "Sheffield"because there are two teams in that city.
Much the same as they wouldn't say Manchester.

Rubbish he is supposedly the Doncaster Rovers specialist commentator just the same as they ex players etc from all the other local teams commentate when they are on
-
He is the specialist commentator, agreed.
However i know that they are asked to try to be impartial.

Keith Edwards doesn't seem to take any notice of them then
-
Agreed again.
Now he is a tw*t of the highest order.
I stick to what i have said though because i know what they are supposed to do.
-
Not a good first half DF needs to get into them and quick
COYR

None of the others are, but Micky's "style" doesn't endear him to our fans there are much better options as has been proved

Second time seeing it and I still don't think it's a penalty.

The bloke is total tool. Why can't Radio Sheffield use a "Rovers" commentator not someone with a massive chip on his shoulder.
-

Because he's a grade A Kitson.
And it's b*llocks to cite impartiality, as we've been referred to as Donny or Rovers on FLS, The Championship etc in the past. He's a very bitter man for no apparent or good reason.
-
Maybe not but there are some people who just don't like him anyway so they look for reasons to have a go at him anyway.
I have two friends who commentate for the BBC and one who works for another radio station and they have all told me that they have to try not to be biased.

If the ref thought that was a penalty then he should have sent ATS off. He would have bloody deserved it too defending like that!!!

You can see from the direction that the ball goes after the tackle that ATS pushes it away from goal.
-
First half has been dogshit Cambridge are winning every first and second ball. Never a penalty but what a poor performance. Get Lund off and get Stewart on. If we keep the ball on the floor and actually shoot we will win this.
Cambridge are playing long ball and bullying us and so far it's working - maybe get Keegan on!
-
very harsh after seeing the replay..

Good work by Lund to get the ball across goal and a good left foot low strike by Connor.
Right on one count scooter and wrong on the other.

Unlucky scooter

Fed up of the w**ker commentator on Player from Cambridge. He would love Cambridge to win this ?
-
Am I running 5 minutes behind ? I've got 1-1 !!
-
Cambridge have fallen apart, could be a high score for us.
-
So 1 nil down at half time df has a 15 min chat and we are 3-1 up in 10 mins
-
Fantastic strike by Connor for the third.
Well done by Lund for the second.
Scooter, next time we are losing pick a player to come off...please.

Commentary says 1-1 !

-
Just got Lund's 2nd goal ???
-
Rovers fans coming over loud and clear on the radio, keep it boys.
-
Grant's 3rd just got in .......am I in a time warp ?
-
Come on the Young Vikings. Bury them.
-
Can anyone say what formation we are playing since Stewart came on for Tyson, is he injured?
-
Come on Rovers great for confidence.........let's score more. Commentator on player pissed off.
-
Nathan went off at half time with an injury according to radio commentary.
Keegan on for Copps now.
-

cheers, hound.

Just had to let you know that the BBC sport website reports Connors' second goal as going into the bottom corner.
It actually went just under the bar.
I suppose it finished in the bottom corner after it stopped moving.
-

Da, in cazul in care ai fost ?

Lol not as bad as being minutes behind on player.
-
Does anyone know if Harrison Dunk of Cambridge is a relative of that tw*t Lewis Dunk?
-
Cambridge hit the crossbar, that was close. Come on Rovers!
-
Cambridge getting on top just now.
They have pushed their big lads forward and our lack of height at the back is giving us problems.
-
Another Cambridge booking now also for leading with the elbow into a Rovers players' head.
Two of those in the last few minutes.
Just out of interest Yorkiered, MW just called us Donny and then Rovers.
He just cancelled his impartiality card when he said that he is always pleased to see a Donny goal, especially when we are winning.
I noticed that you haven't posted about that mate.

We're ok hound home and dry :)
-
as good as i think, just four minutes of add on time to negotiate.
I hope we get a decent draw as a reward.

hound he sounded as impartial as you can get. Early doors we were ''Doncaster'' and they were the ''U's''. He just sounded one-sided to me as well.
-
Mw also said we arent in control of the game even though we are winning 3-1
-

Quite some time since we got that :(

We weren't at the time he said it though, Cambridge were on top.
-

Perhaps we need to be winning 7-1 , the man is a plank.

Great win! Bring on the L**ds, and Fat Pie eating Evans.

Sorry hound I had to go out. I heard it on the radio. Kind of puts your point about impartiality out the window though doesn't it?
He is still a tosser though.

I agree Yorki but he let his guard slip towards the end.
Did you hear it?
Whatever he says though won't be good enough for you, coz you just don't like him do you?
As i type this he is telling us about how he loves the Rovers and especially the Rovers fans.
( i don't think he includes you though mate).
My point about support commentators being asked not to be biased though is based on what i have been told by the ex players i know who do commentaries.
-
Great win! Bring on the L**ds, and Fat Pie eating Evans.
Or The Blunts or Rovers rejects at Pompey.
-
Ok I have to say well played Mitchell Lund! Stewart made the difference when he came on. Makes a difference when they play football on the floor
Right 3rd round - I'd like a big prem team away but my prediction is Whitehawk away!
-

I agree scooter, we have to players to keep the ball on the deck and it was proven in the second half.
It sounded as though Stewart had a really good game after he came on.
-
Just seen highlights. The penalty looked dubious & looked outside the box to me too.

Don't forget to vote for your Rovers man of the match --> http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=255245
