Title: XBox 360 Receiver??

I've just taken delivery of a second Xbox joypad for the boy's console. It's come with a receiver which according to a quick Google search plugs into a PC. Anyone know what it does/what benefit it will have? Is it some sort of save backup device? Cheers.

Doesn't it let you use the controller on your PC? For PC gaming...

You can plug it into the USB slots on the Xbox as well and it does the job.
