Both have cathedrals and diocesan bishops,
 although that in itself doesn't make you a city.

... and Wakefield was the "County Town" of the West Riding too in preference to some more "illustrious" neighbours

54 for me, of those I missed none jumped out as being really obvious.

Only reason I got Wolverhampton is because I know that's who Donny missed out to last time we tried for city status!

Yes ... a thriving Town with growing population ... a fantastic football team ...its own Racecourse ... superb shops ...loads of great local Breweries .... but they still picked Wolverhampton !!!
