About time we got a decent ref and linesmen, they were probably the best this season, maybe if we get good officiating for the last 2 games we may have a chance :boxing:

Yes, agree with that. Used common sense

Can we have him every week
-
Agreed. All officials performed well
-
Excellent use of the advantage rule.
Lino was happy to flag for fouls as well. A very good performance on their behalf.
-
Apart from the ball going a foot out for a corner which the ref and lino missed.
-
I suspect if I had been a Cov fan I would have been very unhappy. We won't get that many decisions again for a long time.
Thinking of a couple of corners which were goal kicks and Tyson being did side before his cross to Williams. But you win some you lose some.

He did ! Common sense from Officials my god !
Docked him a point for NOT Booking their 21 after reading him the riot act and then ignoring the attempt to bring down Evina followed in the same move seconds later by another foul. Should have been Yellow
Contrast that with Middleton coming on and getting a Yellow for a similar foul "miles" from our Goal. Other than that a good display and common sense when Matthews slid out of the area when he could not stop.
Coventry fans must have felt a sense of injustice but in truth most of the things the Ref did was right ! Hell I need a lie down COYR

Overall he was very good, but what on earth was that all about in the first half where Tyson was fouled running into the box but stayed on his feet, the ref signalled advantage and the ball went out for a goal kick (signalled by the linesman) yet he didn't pull it back for the foul? Surely by definition the ball going out of play is the advantage disappearing, and there's no way Tyson could have caught the ball as the foul hindered him.

I thought there was an offside call there Superspy from the Lino on the West - I may be wrong tho!
-
Some refs might have given Mathews a red card after he slid out of the area with the ball in his hands.I dont think he even gave him a yellow, but it was his momentum that took him outside the box.
-
Red?
Even a yellow would have been harsh - could it really be classed as a deliberate hand ball - I don't think so and it certainly didn't prevent a goal scoring opportunity.

I said some ref MIGHT have given a red i didnt say they would. It wasnt deliberate but you know what some refs are like with their interpritaion of the laws.

I thought that at first but then realised Tyson already had the ball and was running with it when he was fouled, so there was no pass to be offside from. The lino had his flag up for a goal kick.

Aye as I said a few days ago - how did Iniesta NOT get a Red for that Hand Ball last week ?
Its all about Ref consistency and if the same one could Ref each game it may be more consistent but you are right - some Refs WOULD have sent off Mathews maybe 30% some would have Yellow Carded him maybe 60% and 10% including this one judged it was not deliberate or he could not help it
Maybe Mathews too made a mental note in case it happens again to him - let it go !

Now you've said that, the Football League will probably send Mr Kettle to an obscure town in Cheshire on Saturday.
We usually win when the whistling one shows up.
I see he's got his ton up for the season. 102 yellows and 10 reds.
