...and assuming that my rusty probability skills are roughly working, I reckon the odds that that we have about a 30% chance of going into the final day able to catch Chesterfield and a 40% chance of being able to catch Fleetwood.
All really depends on us beating Crewe (for which we are a bit shorter than evens). Both Chesterfield and Fleetwood are odds against winning, so chances are it'll come down to the last day.

The Shrewsbury result yesterday was really not good. Not good at all. Even a draw there would have been fantastic. Have always hated going to Gillingham and sitting freezing in that Blue Peter stand. God awful and the useless buggers couldn't even get a draw out of Shrewsbury. Bloody rubbish.

It'll be the cruelest way possible (we don't get the result next week and the following week we find out that *if* we'd beat Crewe we could have stayed up. Or something horribly, horribly frustrating will happen on the final day). Sadly, we're where we are and deserve to be where we are. Either way, this:

Doubt owt will be worse than the Leicester away debacle. That was truly horrifying. Whatever happens on final day this year cannot be as bad. Including that poor bloke who sadly passed away at Leicester. What an awful day that was.

Either way, at least we've given ourselves a chance. I can honestly see us winning our last two, we appear to have a bit of confidence back. IF we win our last two, got a feeling Chesterfield could kop for it.
After that Stoke game a few months back, where we were excellent, who would have thought it would come down to this!?

Especially getting home, watching the higlights and seeing that it was never a penalty.

It's certainly pleasing that we're not going down without a fight (though we should have been frickin' fighting in Jan, Feb & Mar), but I look at the teams just above us and I just can't see them not picking up the odd point or more in their next games. And that's before we even start thinking that we'll definitely beat Crewe and Burton...

Totally. Summat happened in January (well, that's my feeling) and we have sleep-walked into this, only jolting back to life when the shit was sliding off the fan. It's a disgrace.

For me, alarm bells were ringing after the Sheffield United game. That is when action needed to be taken. I'm afraid the manager has to take the rap for that.

It's beyond belief that this same squad conceded 4 goals in 25 minutes at Colchester. The lack of professionalism amongst the players and coaching staff that allowed this, reasonably talented bunch to succumb like that (after three months of shocking underperformance) was utterly dreadful.
As I've said before, the fact that, probably too late, this fuming bunch has scraped some pride together is absolutely no excuse. I'd rather they were just shit and had been doing their best all season. Instead, they are NOT shit, but they had a spell where they abdicated their right to be called professionals.
If, as almos certainly will happen, we go down by 3-4 points, this lot should carry that shame round with them for the rest of their days. This is not a relegation squad. But the lack of application has turned them into one. And that is unforgivable.

We were cack throughout at Colchester. Rubbish in first half but got a goal and as soon as they woke up in second half we were truly in the shit.

Tossed it off all year then the 2 week before parents evening/school report, I worked like mad.

I blame manager and players. Something definitely happened. There is, without doubt, a performance in this team, they've shown it in the last 8 days and where we find ourselves is nothing more than a disgrace.
Whatever happens from here on in we need a clear out. Starting with the manager who has shown time and time again that when the going gets tough he hasn't a clue. Kept trying to play the same system when it was obvious it wasn't working. Brought in some terrible loan signings, but refused to strengthen the defence when everyone else could see what was needed.
As for the players, including some of the senior pro's, they have been a disgrace for three months.
I hope to god we stay up and never find ourselves in this position again because we sure shouldn't be sweating on these last two games
