Title: Just out of interest..
Post by: IDM on April 25, 2016, 08:23:20 pm
Who do you want to win the PL out of Leicester and Spurs?

Both would be a new name on the trophy and Spurs have been getting better season by season recently.  However in pure football romanticism I would be delighted for Leicester to win it..

Leicester because it will be a one off.

This Spurs team is good enough to win it in the next 2-3 years.

That's how I see it.
Don't be surprised to see Leicester struggle next season.
European football, pretty small squad, could be a contrasting season.

I must be one of the few people who actually want Spurs to win it. It's just as unusual them winning it as it is Leicester.

I just can't stand all those Leicester fans clapping those stupid things they get given, sorry.

What, those things that have been given out at various Rovers games this season, including on Saturday?

Spurs would be a 'different' winner yes, but they have spent the money and have been a european challenger for a few years now. Leicester are a much different face at the top, and I agree that Spurs are more likely to challenge again in the next few years.

Leicester. Absolutely Leicester.

Partly for the romanticism of it, partly because Spurs fans are f**king unbearable at the best of times.

I'm gonna have a tenner on spurs to win it next season and Leicester to get relegated.
I also fancy Liverpool to give spurs a run for their money.

The only thing to sour a Leicester win would be how they ran their finances a few years back.

Leicester could even win it if they both end up getting beat next weekend.

Leicester for the romance of it, and as others have said, we'll probably never see anything like this again. But Spurs have been the best team to watch this season, some of their football has been fantastic.

Leics as they were the underdogs and small team and it was not long ago we were in the same league As them.

As someone has said, it will be a one off but a welcome break from the norm.

I would like Leicester, but just have a feeling spurs will win it, i don't see Leicester getting another win this season, they will lose to united and chelsea and get no better than a draw against everton.

Leicester. But would also be happy if Spurs were to win it as both teams play the way I like it to be played.

Happy with either . Nice to see Leicester a relatively small club and of course Spurs historically one of the heavyweights.
I too think that Spurs are going on to bigger things providing they can keep both manager and team together. It would be nice to see them put both Chelsea and Arsenal firmly in their place for a change . Must say that London footy looking it' s rosiest for many a year . Usually the powerhouse has been in the North West , perhaps the pendulum is swinging to the South?

Have to say though that historically Spurs have only won the top Division twice and in fact most FA and League cup wins have 0-1 in them I.e. 1900-01, 60-61 etc. An omen I think.

The title is going to The Foxes and they have earned it . :)

The challenge for both teams is hanging on to their best players. I think that Spurs will be more able to do this.

Not so sure about that tbh Idler. That bloke at Leicester is as rich as Croesus. If he decides they're staying they'll probably stay....

Not sure - would love to see either win it to be fair - Leicester are the small club and it would be brilliant - but they seemed to break all sorts financial rules and spend stupid money in getting up into that division in the first place - shit or bust and all that!

Spurs would be great because they have a lot of good young Englishmen and could form the spine of an exciting England team for a few years - but I ain't really that fussed about England!

As has been said further up the thread - Spurs look like they have a chance for the next few years and they play really quality football.

Leicester play exciting football but will probably be one-hit wonders (Vardy especially imo!)

So I'll go Leicester - but kudos to both for breaking the hold of the 'super clubs.'

It's the lure of playing for one of the so called super clubs though Bob.

I don't see this season as a one off, the money coming in from tv deals is levelling the playing field, teams like Leicester can hold onto a player if it's a case of wages. The only way they lose players is if the player wants to play for a certain team, if say Man utd, Arsenal or Liverpool come in.
Juan Mata surprised me saying if he thought it could get back to more football than business, he would willingly take a pay cut, as he thinks it  too much the amount he is being paid.
