Does that mean Tyson stays if he hasn't found a club by June 1st and Chaplow stays if he doesn't find a club before July 1st?

The way I see it is, if they choose to leave by the relevant date, then they can. Alternatively they can stay but they will be on worse terms than before.
The third option is that they stay on the reduced terms but hope that another club comes in for them before the August window closes. Otherwise they will have to knuckle down until January at the earliest.

Tyson could activate his release clause without finding a club and become a free agent, but he wouldn't get paid
-
Reckon both could still do a job if they wanted to be here and work hard - if they get no alternatives that are, in their eyes, plausible for them they'd be worth keeping! if they can't be arsed fcuk em!

That's basically what I meant.
If you're the player in that situation you hope you have a good agent. One who will sound out opportunities for you but won't give you bull. If he's had no real interest you hope he will say so. Then you can stay put.
