I assume that the stadium name sponsorship by Keepmoat was for 10 years, I heard that Keepmoat won't be continuing so I guess that it will be known as the Comunity stadium from then on unless another company is stepping in.

And with our Thai ties...
-
Viking Stadium has a ring to it... ;)
-
And with our Thai ties...
LadyBoy Stadium
-
Wonder what the cost is for the naming rights. I believe the sponsorship with Keepmoat ends in December
-

Maybe the 'what went wong last season stadium'
-
The 'Micks Mini Cabs Stadium' has a ring to it.
-
Quasimodo's head had a ring to it

Not a lot! I was party to the deal that involved the naming rights being granted to Keepmoat and was surprised it wasn't more but then again they dont exactly benefit that much from the deal.
I'd like to think the club could negotiate better than the council mind

Thank god Earth Finance arent still going.....
-
It will be named The Ledger mobility stadium, after drawing it out of a hat....
-
The fella who used to run Ledger Mobility - posts on here! He's a mate of mine.

... to be avoided at ALL costs.
I reckon it is that connection that persuades a lot of the population of Donny that our greatest claim to fame - the Worlds Oldest Classic Horse Race - should be spelt St Ledger and not St Leger
Maybe a 1D Band Member can go the whole hog and get the naming rights .... a bit like personalised Number Plates for him surely ?
-
Don't tempt him, Wolfie!
-
Grandad Len Stadium.
-
Did the Ledger Mobility man intentionally opt for Ledger over Leger or is it a typo?

Or a copyright issue??
Back to the OP this is a good opportunity for extra revenue, would be better if we were in a higher division mind. As we haven't had a long history of knowing the stadium by a traditional name - unlike at Belle Vue - there is no issue IMHO with having a sponsor name.
-
How about The Ann Summers stadium?
We could make a fortune if we let her design the kit as well.
-

Actually I have no idea! LOL - I'll ask him!
Let's not forget though that Ledger Mobility were the very clear main club and shirt sponsors of DRFC in 2002/03 when we got back into the league! Bit of kudos there for sure!

I've often wondered whether or not Ann Summers was a real person or just a brand name.
According to Wiki - she was but was called Annice!
The company was named after Annice Summers, the female secretary of the male founder, Michael Caborn-Waterfield.
Annice Summers, who was born Annice Goodwin in 1941 but took her stepfather’s surname, left the company soon after it opened following a row with Caborn Waterfield. She went to live in Umbria, Italy, two hours from Rome, and died of cancer in October 2012.
And she looked like this:

Yes I still have a Boys sized one when I attempted to get one of each for the Bar I was going to have at home - I never did get it though I still have the Beer to go in it !

they had very "blunt pencils" for the avoidance of any doubt the use of the word "blunt" relates only to pencils (I used the word sharp pencil on my last post elsewhere) and not to any individual past or present.
can I go back into "hibernation" now
-
Would feel weird been called something else now, feel like i would still refer to it as the keepmoat.
-
Current deal has another 5 years to run anyhow I think!
-
Belle veiw sounds and looks shite
-
How about Belle Vue?
-
I see someone removed their belle veiw idea. Now it looks like that I can't spell Belle Vue.
-
I saw it nudga. 🙂
Maybe I should have added a winky as I was only having a laugh rather than trying to be clever.

Please no, i suggested it as a joke, because that's how our shirt sponsorship was decided!, They have been involved with us a lot of years,so of course i appreciate that, but surely any stadium sponsorship deal would need to be big amounts of money, or just do the right thing and name it 'The Robin Hood stadium'.........
-
Why would that be "the right thing"?...
-
Why would that be "the right thing"?...
Because the airport is called that, a bit of sarcastic humour?.
-
Ah yes, the best jokes are always the ones you have to explain.

Not many people get my humour, nothing new there.
-
If Robin Hood airport stump up the money, I don't see why not.
-
But that isn't what was suggested. The suggestion was just not sell the rights at all and for no apparent reason name it that.
-

No need for winkies mate, I'm not that precious.
-
Imagine the possible clichés if it was Robin Hood Stadium
Rovers in terminal decline .... Run (a) way win for Rovers ... our Season has taken off .... Rovers last stand .... Rovers aPEEL for snow shovellers .... Rovers approaching Play offs .....
oh and Taxi for Ferguson (and me) in the future sometime no doubt
-
Was thinking more of Merry Men style puns. As in "Rovers Friar Tuck it up."
-
... and in FA Cup Round 3 .... even "made Marian" Fellaini look good !
-
I saw it nudga. 🙂

I meant for the original post that you replied to Nudga not yours.
I didn't think for a minute that you'd be upset. 🙂

are you sure it wasn't you Nudga, in some crazy dyslexic daze? :P

Absolutely no danger.
-
I'm not attached to the keepmoat name, it means nothing to me, it's just a firms name, so whoever bids highest will do me.
-
Will we always refer to it as Keepmoat I wonder - or will it take a couple of generations for it to fade from the vocabulary ?
Belle Vue was always that to me and always will be and I think Keepmoat even after any renaming will probably still be what people use - or say maybe are you off t'Rovers next Saturday.
Lets say we changed to "Whitbys Fish and Chip Restaurant Stadium" for the sake of argument - or the shorter "Peglers Stadium" the Club would do their best to promote that name of course but would we as fans still refer to it as the Keepmoat anyway ?
-
I wonder if Huddersfield Town fans still call it the McAlpine? Shortened to the Mac.
-
I never minded the name Keepmoat, keep and moat are both castle related and we were hoping for a fortress...
-
... switch to Ben "Bailey" Homes then to keep the Castle theme going ?

Sadly it would just remind me of a not particularly successful former chairman of DRFC.

Most of us will call it that out of habit, even if it changed name. I can't remember anybody calling belle vue, the earth stadium, most of us just p..sed ourselves because it didn't fit the club, anything that improves the club finances, but one i wouldn't agree to is changing the club name.
-
If it wasn't to have a sponsor name I'd have called it the Lakeside Stadium. Ultimately it doesn't really matter as it isn't as if we'll be losing a historic name when a new sponsor comes in, like when Mike Ashley tried to rename St. James' Park.
