Stat Attack
won: 9 / drawn: 11 / lost: 19
Rovers have drawn 2 and won 1 of the last 3 against Forest. The last time Rovers beat Forest at home was in February 2010 in the Championship.
We have lost every League Cup encounter against Forest and this is the first time Rovers have played Forest whilst being two divisions below them.

Teams anyone?
-
Doncaster: Marosi, Butler, Wright, Mason, Garratt, Blair, Rowe, Middleton, Houghton, Williams, Marquis
Subs: Etheridge, Lund, Calder, Evina, Coppinger, Mandeville, Beestin
Forest: Henderson, Lichaj, Mills, Perquis, Traore, Burke, Cohen (c), Vaughan, Paterson, Ward, Vellios
Subs: Smith, Mancienne, Lansbury, Osborn, Veldwijk, Kasami, Iacovitti

Thanks...
-
I'd like to see the Beast get a run out for 20 minutes or more this evening.
I'd also love it if we got a win .. just to silence their arrogant new manager Montanier who seems to think beating us is a formality.
-
I like these games in that we have nothing to lose - we are not expected to beat a side 2 divisions higher but we can and should give them a game. A positive result is a bonus..
-
Oh well...
-
Unstoppable top corner shot from Vaughn
-
Same shit different game

Where did you read that? He said they want to try and win the competition but then the usual speel about first they must concentrate on beating us.
-
Pretty dire from us 1st half. They (forest) haven't broke a sweat.
-
How we doing then - holding our own or being over run?

1-0 up but a few are looking very tired. Not as lively as Saturday but the defence is a lot better; Perquis and Traore look good #NFFC
-
Garratt has been overrun on his side a few times. We came into it as the half went on. Some of our passing is simply terrible.
-
Do we look as though we're awake - snappy passing, movement etc rather than the labourious control the ball and have a look around, then pass it backwards.
-
The 2nd.
-
I take it that with Butler going off we are playing 4-4-2 now?

A tweet suggested 3 at the back is now Mason, Wright, Garrett.
-
He's like a dog with a bone playing this system

No idea
-
Oh Mandeville, you came and you scored...
-

Yep, basic bad play and kak spirit, not impressed by that at all from him.
-
I can only go by the comments here, but it sounds like we still haven't got everything together - however we did have a disrupted pre-season and lots of injuries. Hopefully we can get some results in this testing period.
-
Defence is better... though no idea about what happened on that goal :crying:
-
Bugger
-
Rovers conceding in injury time. In other news, water is wet.
-
It's beyond a joke...
-
Role on satdi
-
Clear foul on Tommy Rowe on edge of area before they scored but referee played on.
-
Two cups and a league to win :boxing:

Far to many forward,as normal
-
Far to many forward,as normal
For their winner? Could it be we were pressing for a winner too?
Not too fussed about tonight, more bothered that we lost at the weekend..

Well I do like consistency.
-
"Fergie Time" :coat:
-
Once again, conceded in injury time.
-
Played much better as a unit in 2nd half. Noticeable change when Mandeville replaced Middleton (who tbh looks like old age has crept up on him before his time). Could have gone either way in the end.
Rowe played for the free kick on the edge of the box and ref didn't buy it.
I'd be quite happy for the team that finished to start on Saturday.
-
Out of interest, did Forest play like a championship team?
-
What do we do in training. Don't we discuss about the final 5 minutes of a match. Happened last season and both games this season.
-
We're lacking match fitness from an injury struck pre season. In a game or two we'll be on the right track.
-

Not too fussed about tonight, more bothered that we lost at the weekend..so because we're pushing for a goal we should basically say if we lose possession you go and score? That is what is happening and not just this season
-
Well I enjoyed tonight, thought we played well and we look like we have a lot of goals in our team. I can't think of anyone that had a bad game and I'd be quite happy watching that all year.
-
Be nice to win though.
-
Rovers conceding in injury time. In other news, water is wet.
And conceeding with Forests first attempt on goal yet again.
-
Out of interest, did Forest play like a championship team?
Yes. But an average one at best. Much more composed than us on the ball as you would expect but didn't create many chances. Mid-table for them this year.
-
First this was a cup game we were attacking to try and win the game in normal time. It was a foul on Tommy Rowe on the edge of their area which the referee said play on broke quickly and for the first time in 90mins Jamie Ward got past Matty Blair to score.
So it's not the same we weren't trying to get a point. Nobody wanted extra time, although it was announced it would go straight to penalties!!.
Tonight the first half our three in midfield were to wide apart. Middleton was poor and when Mandeville came on he showed how to attack from that position. But if DF wants to play 3 at the back the second half showed you need three mobile players, which Butler is not. Joe Wright was rightly given MOM followed in my opinion by Matty Blair.
But Darren sort out the midfield, Tommy Rowe plays better behind the strikers or striker not left central midfield.
Houghton did his job, Mason mobile either Right or Left centre back. Garrett better at left side defender than left wing back.
I know we are missing players and Notts Forest at times showed their quality especially in the first half. But the midfield in the first half were to wide apart and Darren needs to look how he gets the best out of the midfield.
-

What a pill@ck , only Mills and Burke played for th on Saturday

It was a good strike from a welsh international footballer, although Garrett turned his back on the shot, but there was not a lot you could do about it.
Also there weren't many more shots for Marosi in goal in 90 mins
-
After the tackle on Rowe just before they broke away for the winner who was our player that made no attempt to go for the loose ball?
He just stood and watched and seemed to bottle going in to win it.
Had he done so they just may not have broken away.

That's the problem, when things like that happen, the other players should be switched on, and stop them getting any further. We lose some very poor goals, not through lack of ability, half of the time, it's usually concentration issues.
-
As I said after the last match, players need a psychologist...to lose 2 matches in a row in the last minutes it's very frustrating, it will affect their confidence
