Stat Attack
W3 / D3 / L10

Rovers have only played Portsmouth 6 times in the last 30 years, winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 3. The last loss came in 2012, which saw Rovers relegated to L1; most Rovers fans will never forgive the Kitson Dave Kitson for his behaviour in that game. We actually won the last encounter at Fratton Park 1-0 back in 2012; Iain Hume the scorer.

I expect a loss here, but an exciting game.

Marosi
Richardson, Butler, Wright, Evina
Houghton, Rowe, Blair, Coppinger
Marquis, Williams

subs: Etheridge, Calder, Baudry, Mason, Beestin, Middleton, Mandeville

Enda Stevens starts for Pompey, on the bench are Kyle Bennett, Curtis Main and Milan Lalkovic. That's 4 goals for then to start with. Not sure I could take Curtis scoring against us!

Our defence isn't as good as it should be, not yet.  But joking aside I can't see us conceding that many!

I hope we can win this but a draw isn't the Enid of the world.. If Main does score, so be it - we let him go..

I was hoping Garrett as a left sided defender might be up to taking Evina's place, and he's not even on the bench?

Injury setback, or just not rated by Fergie?

Young defender Wright makes a mistake when he should have left the ball to go out. Players of his age will sometimes make mistakes.

Needs to tighten up.

I dont have a problem with that as a tactic as long as we dont play the same formation as we play when we are in attack mode.  We need to be compact and hard to get through, and certainly not defend as badly from the wide positions as Blair did on tuesday.  Got to stop the crosses coming in .

Thank f**k!  I still don't like the idea of taking Copps off and sitting back.. We managed today but not on Tuesday.

Still, a very welcome 3 points!  20 from 11 games and 22 goals to boot..

The tent will miss the next game

Won't that be the Cup game against Derby kids on Tuesday?

Didn't they change how bookings were counted so B team players wouldn't miss first team games? I would think that the same would apply the other way around.

Why?

Because they've changed the rules so the Trophy games don't count.

Ah, missed that.  I was thinking of the rule change a couple of years ago where suspensions were for the next available first team match,  not the first match after 7 days.

I would play the tent against Derby, and rest Williams - don't want to risk being without both of them.

Great win today.
Not sure we could have dropped to 12th as someone suggested if we had lost, unless it had been by about eight goals.
I won't be at the MM game on Tuesday but am really looking forward to Saturday.

Been on Pompey forum, the natives are restless, many calling for the sacking of manager Paul Cook.

If I were Norwegian I might say, Kyle Bennett,Curtis Main,Enda Stevens,Dave Kitson, Paul Mariner, Jimmy Dickenson, Charles Dickens your boys took one hell of a beating tonight.
Younger fans go back to about 1981 and Norway beating England .

Amazing really that Pompey have given us the terms Kitson and Cotterill, two of the most insulting phrases in the English tongue.
