Title: Don't panic
Post by: southwestexile on December 11, 2016, 02:13:34 pm
Your first half passing was some of the best I've seen since the O'Driscoll glory days and it was just a case of fine margins tipping their way;

- we should have scored in first five mins but shot was week
- they pounced on an unfortunate slip - good finish though
- Marquis slipped when he had a clear chance
- the pen missed by 4 inches
- their pen was a ridiculous decision

We were better but they had the rub of the green as well as setting out a good game plan to frustrate us. We hate their goalie, but we'd hate Marqus if he didn't play for us.

AND we're only 2 points off the top. Tbh I'd be more worried if we started to pull away at the top as I'd be expecting us to properly f it right up in the last two months

Looking forward to Grimsby

All i wanted was for us to be in contention at Christmas. Let's not forget we've had our fair share of injuries and the manager has done a good job in limiting how they've effected our progress.
We will tighten up a touch with a regular back four but we also need a bit of work done on them as a unit. The attack has been a major plus point we've struggled to score goals for a few seasons.

You say we'll tighten up with zero evidence to support the claim yet on another thread you've said he's never been good defensively... which is it?

You're wasting your time RedJ, I've given up trying to get clarification on contradictory statements from Sammy

100% true, I don't think this place would be the same without his unique style to be fully honest.

What i'm saying is we have good natural defenders who will improve their individual performances as they go along. As a unit they are not quite there but as the games go on they will understand each other better. And should let less goals in. Not a fact an opinion.
The players themselves will achieve this despite the managers 'all out attacking style'. All i have been asking for is the manager to use a very experienced defensive coach, in Russ Wilcox to improve it even more.
Am i speaking in swahili or do you understand?. I haven't contradicted myself i have put different parts of the above. If some stopped trying to score points and put down everything others write the forum might not be so dead.

As Voltaire said [allegedly] I do not agree with what you say but I defend your right to say it.

I always enjoy reading your posts Sammy, keep 'em coming.
