Rovers have actually only won 2 league games in the last 30 years against Notts County. The last game we played against county was one of those wins; Andy Williams scoring the only goal in the fixture in December.

Given that we've only played them 11 times in the league since 1986 that's not actually as bad as it sounds. Still a pretty poor record but it's hard to beat a team when you're not playing them.
-
I agree, just thought it was quite interesting. We'll make it 3 times in 30 years tonight! :scarf:
If you include cup games as well though, 3/9 over the last 10 years is also pretty poor.
Never realised before today that we didn't play them at all between 1998 and 2008, and only played County 3 times between 1989 and 2008.
Going back further, we only played them once, which was a cup game, in the 70s
-
Yeah, I've got a few friends and family who are County fans and it does seem weird how little we've played them over the years.
-
Good afternoon everyone. Tough game ahead, though one we should win, could get physical. Hopefully, after this evening we won't be playing Notts C for a few years to come.
-
Sadly gotta sit this one out tonight, but cmon you reds!!!!
-
Got called out at work so sat at home, cmon lads!!! :scarf: 2-1
-
Us oldies must recall the 1965/6 season when we played Notts County at home. We finished Champions of Div. 4 that season but suffered a 3-0 loss at home to County just three games before the end of the season. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself as far as tonight's result is concerned.
Am I right in thinking that was the game that Tony Coleman got sent off and thumped the ref ?.
-
Alfie misses good chance?
-
Pompey 1 up
-
It was a snap shot at the near post from a pacy cross.. could easily have gone in, Alfie did well to be in the right place and get something on it..

-
Nicely. :scarf:
-
Let's nick another before H-T.
-
Excellent comeback! We're always going to have the odd poor start, good to hear we kept our heads, upped our game, neat change from DF and quality is counting, not County :chair:
-
I thought the pace of the first 20 minutes was particularly quick then we seemed to get a bit sloppy with passes and over hit through balls.. still looked dangerous and just needed to get it together.. cool finish by Copps..
-
Impressed by Alfie May too.. doesn't look like a non league player..
-

He didn't when he was playing non league. Still, I don't think DF expected him to shine so quickly. Definitely one for the next league up.
-
Crikey. Scunny losing AGAIN. This time at home to Rochdale. They've really gone. Shame.

Seems like its all Rovers, NC for the taking, let's get a cricket score 10 maybe....
-

May make a big difference if they hope to top Plymouth.
-
County just missed a sitter. Free header from inside the 6 yard box.
-
Come on you Reds.....
-
Goal disallowed.........for County! Sweating now. Come on you Reds!
-
How quickly the mood can change.
For anyone not listening in, Notts got the ball in the net but whistle blown for a foul by them.
-
Clear foul on our keeper.
-
AT moment 16 points clear of 4th place
-
Plymuff 1-1
-
Interesting substitutions ...
-
We want 3 !
We want 3 !
:scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Shocking ref too..
-
Shocking ref too..
Why?
-
Missed too many fouls..
-
Having said that he did see their latest foul on the keeper
-
5 minutes?? The trainer hasn't been on the pitch once!!
-
Yesssssass
-
3-1 WILLIAMS
-
It's that special counting IDM. Refs do it different to everyone else. Been doing it for years...
BobG
-
Yesssssssssssss ... Andy Williams ... at last ! . Good for him.
-
Good :)
-
Happy days! :scarf:
-
Pleased for Williams, hope this means he's on the goal rush.
-
Poor Orient though. Proper stuffed tonight.
BobG
-
Another good time to score! :coat:
-
I reverse my comment about the ref!
Meant that Williams got the goal his confidence needs, a breakaway after their keeper came up for a corner..
-
:scarf:  :woohoo:
and a good boost for andy williams
-
16 points clear of 4th....
-
3 points closer and another game done and dusted! You redsssss :bbscarf:
-
Great result that. Plymouth slip up again and surely we have an unassailable lead between us and 4th now.
Also great to see Willo get a goal from the bench. Hopefully he can turn a corner now.
-
Luton could get to 88 points if they win every match they got left. So we would need 14 points from 9 games to avoid it going to goal difference.
BobG
-
Luton won't get 88 points !
Keep the faith
:scarf:
-
Another small step for winning the league :scarf:
-
For some reason I had doubts about the result tonight. No reason, just this feeling, so well done Rovers. I'll sleep well tonight!
:scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
-
3 points, move onto Saturday, Leyton Orient, sad to say we could give them a tonking having lost 5-0 to Accry this evening.
-
I did say, Foxbat, if Luton won every game that they have left. How many teams do you know who have ever won 11 matches on the bounce?
BobG
-
Great to see AW score tonight right at the end, but a big nod to GM for the pass when he could have easily taken the shot himself
COYR

I see (BBC ) that Lawlor was given a yellow card. Any idea what for? Time wasting maybe? ...........in the 65 minute!
-
Gobing off to the ref I think
COYR

Man of the match poll now up: http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=261485 :scarf:

COYR
Ok. Thanks, glosterred.
-
The ref had a decent game.
He appeared to be very calm throughout.
Not so sure that Orient will be there for the taking.
Having lost eight goals in two games they are very likely to set up against us to avoid getting hammered.

I can see us doubling that number in one game if the majority of our chances hit the back of their net. It's going to be 90 minutes of one way traffic.
-
Chicken counting?
It won't be easy.
I can't see them playing an open game against us.
They are more likely to play like an away team and hope to nick a goal.
-
I thought tonights ref was one of the best seen down here for a long time (and thats not because we won either)
-

Leyton O's match report of the Accry game, suggests they were lucky only to lose 5-0, there were a few desperate goal line clearances. Sadly LO are mainly playing a youth team, so on Saturday it will be men against boys. A terrible mess of a club, you can only wish the very best to the LO supporters, a couple of decades ago we were in a similar situation.

I'm guessing he thought the referee had given a goal and gave him some lip. I think the ref gave 3 yellow cards for dissent tonight.
-
I thought the ref was good tonight. Got all of the big decisions right. He did let some niggly things slide but he was consistent with that throughout.
