Looks like being the same again for Saturday, but it would be nice if one or both make the bench, at least.
-
Smoke and Mirrors springs to mind, who knew that Copps was injured last week
-
I reckon we just about managed without them.
-
Ah well. We didn't do too bad without them.
-
I thought Grant being out on Saturday gave Tommy Rowe more creative freedom and he was outstanding so no worries here!
-
Looking at the full 90 mins again, although we were clinical, we missed Copps as there wasn't as much joined up football in open play.
-
But Gary Mac will only be more effective with more game time, Luke too.
Any news on Lund?

And ATS?

I will put myself up to be shot at.I would play Middleton before Mcshefry.
-
At least we have decent options..

McSheffrey causes problems everytime he plays and offers what we miss when Copps isn't available.
-
I agree with Selby, McSheffrey's legs have gone
-
I thought Gar Mac's touch was a bit off in the first half on Saturday but he's a quality player who can make a difference on the run-in. Gives us another option on set-pieces too. There are few things that you can guarantee in football matches but you will always get set-pieces.

Agreed, he grew into the game and became more influential as Grimsby tired.

I give you Ian Harte
-
Those corners... bloody lethal.
-
Hope they are back and involved in the celebrations!
-
That game against Reading was when we were really struggling, yet were one nil up and dealing (just) with everything Harte could throw at us, until one corner. too far..
-
I've never seen corners like Hart's. Truly terrifying.
-
It would be nice if we had the option of these two on the bench, after all, it's going to be a scrap on Saturday.
-
I am not against Mcsheffry playing,it will be the managers call anyway. But having seen Middleton from the youth team I think he is better further forward in a Copps role, than in the deeper role he has played lately.
In the cup game at Mansfield he destroyed them in midfield all the game, his first time ball left footed to Williams for his goal at Grimsbey went largely unnoticed but was a great 30yd ball into the path of Williams.
As long as we win I am not bothered who plays, and want all the players to do well, but I would like to see Middleton and Mandeville given a few games in the last few games, fitness allowing of course.
-
Was it at this stage last season that gGrant got a thigh injury and went back to Everton.
-
I think McSheffery is a brilliant player and i dare say had he been fit all season we would've scored even more than we already have.
You need a couple of experienced heads in the dressing room too.
-

It was his first start of the season after months out, certainly good enough still.
-
There were some saying Copps' legs had gone two seasons ago.

.
At least a couple of times a season at home matches Ian Harte's name gets brought by those around me, it must be the best display of corner kicks ever taken, absolutely brilliant.

I did say for me we should let Middleton go because he can't play that defensive midfield role due to him not being able to run but going from what I've seen him do in the opposition half he's still got a part to play. I feel like sometimes young players need to be told what position they are, such as McCullough sees himself as a defender when he's best in midfield. Middleton sees himself as a defensive midfielder but he's better as an attacking midfielder.
-
Middleton does have more impact on the game when playing further up the pitch.
-
I think McSheffrey can only be used effectively as an impact player off the bench. He still isn't match fit enough to start. I would definately play Middleton if Copps doesn't play.
