Just a quick question, we're these meant to be left on the seats. As we were leaving I was carrying one for my son and a chap comes over, literally snatches it out of my hands, mumbles summat about putting it away for me, then walks back towards the centre of the stands. The whole episode seemed bizarre, as he wasn't waiting by the exit to collect them up.. very strange...

Yes, the flags were meant to be left at the ground so they can be reused next season.
-
As it happens I've been to quite a few games where flags and other items have been placed on seats and those items were available to be taken home. T shirts were made available at the opening game of the Keepmoat as an example.
-
I think my point has been lost, I've no issue leaving the flag what so ever, it makes perfect sense. It was just the way it was handled, I would have expected the said gentleman to wait by the exit with a bucket asking any flag bearers to drop them in. As to my knowledge I saw a dozen flags leaving the ground. So the rounding up of said flags wasn't particularly well organised..

Do you normally leave venues with items you haven't paid for?
When something is left on a seat, there's a fair assumption that the seat user has the right to take responsibility of the item. Unless stated otherwise. I seem to remember leaving with my opening day Huddersfield t shirt, and I didn't pay for that. I just think it could have been organised better, no harm done..
-
Plenty of harm done - looking at the amount of flags left at the end of the game I'd advise them not to purchase any further.

Yes. I have towels to prove it.
-
Surprised nobody's been whinging about the young lad waving the rather large flag at the front of the stand for parts of the second half.
-
Probably coz their wasn't much to see on the pitch I suppose.
-
Did people know they weren't meant to take the flags.?
-
Nope, and that was the crux.of the matter... plus having it snatched out of my hand, which wasn't the best of manners if I'm being honest. Cest la vie, at least it takes our minds off the matter of the results.
-
I've got one from Southend game?
-
Aye, but they were given out by the club, not by a fan group.

I've been to a red bull event you can take home what ever they put out for you to use
-
Aye, but they were given out by the club, not by a fan group.
Same principle applies to the above too.
-
Surely whoever gave them out should have said, " please let me have them back at the end".
No mix up then.
-
Great effort by the people involved in BB they should be congratulated on the time and effort they have put in over the last couple of seasons sad it ends on a sour note.
-
The flag monitor had been redeployed to pencil sharpening duties

They weren't being given out. They were placed in the stand at certain points well before people (or the majority anyway) came into the ground.

Looks like a communication error to me
Earlier this Season and last the Club and lots of people on here were asking for Pyrotechnics NOT to be set off at the Keepmoat - but maybe the message did not get through
Last home game the "Crowd" were asked NOT to invade the Pitch by the Club at least 4 times before and during the game verbally and by Big Screen - but maybe the message did not get through
Then yesterday those supplying the Flags (which looked good by the way) had asked for the Flags to be left at the end of the Game for future use - but maybe as with the 2 examples above that message too did not get through ?
Just a thought

On the rovers Facebook page they are claiming it was a fan group, not the club whom organised the flags. Either way, a great gesture, but someone is spinning a yarn....
-
I may be totally wrong but I think the quote "but they were given out by the Club not a Fan group" refers to eithr the T Shirts for the first ever Game at KM Stadium OR the Flags doled out v Southend in Play Off Semi
I am sure the Club were responsible for giving out both of those and I think that is what was being referred to but the Posts as sometimes happen got answers and comments "out of sequence"

...I was on about the Southend flags.
Would've thought that was obvious considering my post was directly after a post about the Southend game...

I've obviously read the posts out of sequence, my bad as the pre pubescent teens say...

The flags were bought and paid for by fans raising money, we spent f**king days sorting em out, sticking em on poles etc the club had no input in this other than to ask us to provide a fire certificate .
As just quoted, ive read the quotes out of sequence, simple mistake. For being on crack, I think I need some after being on this forum sometimes. As far as being self entitled, and a bellend, that's up to others to decide. However, judging by the ammount of flags leaving the stadium, there was quite a few in the same boat. Mainly children as well, but hey ho..
Moving onto Hartlepool...
