It has been talked about for a while but with Copps' 10th goal we now have 5 players scoring double figures of goals in all competitions in a season. This has only been achieved by Rovers on two previous occasions - the miracle season of 1946-47 (5 in double figures, all in league games) and the 'preceeding' season, 1938-39 when we had no fewer than 6 players scoring double figure, again all in league games.
On an individual note, Copps is now the 10th player to score 60 goals for Rovers in all competitions, so truly a diamond player for us.
More obscurely Copps has become the first Rovers player to score a total (i.e. over multple seasons) of 10 or more goals at 3 different league levels (22 Championship goals, 21 League 1 and now 10 League 2). Ron Walker was peviously the player nearest with 28, 10 and 9 at levels 2,3 and 4 respectively. Alick Jeffrey had 34, 7 and 86 at levels 2, 3 and 4.

Fascinating. Thank you Uncle.
I've never heard of Ron Walker before. My guess is that Ray Harrison is our top scorer at tier 2. I used to love going in his sports shop on East Laith Gate.

Top tier 2 scorer by a long long way is Bert Tindill with 101 followed by Kit Lawlor 46, Billy Sharp 44 and then Ray Harrison 39. Some of these totals may be slightly different (say plus of minus 1 or 2) in different sources - there are a number of goals attributed to different players in different sources - I am not claiming my totals are definitely 100% correct.

Thanks Unc. Am surprised about Ray Harrison given he was the centre forward for most of our 50's glory days (I think?).

I remember Ronnie Walker having to go in goal during a league cup match against Chelsea. We were disappointed that Jimmy Greaves didn't play.
Maybe just as well though as we lost 0-7.
