Remember only time we ever bothered with tennis courts at hexthorpe flats was around Wimbledon time

Likewise, all the snooker clubs were full during the world Championship, and the Golf courses were busier during the open. It just shows the positive effect that advertising has.

To be fair I think that, while that obviously has an influence, the fact that it's around the hottest time of year is going to drag people out on their bikes.

Someone at the Keepmoat once told me that anyone who knows Knockers can't think of him without thinking of a cycle path. Well, I think that's what they said, it was a bit noisy.

That's so bizarre BB as I once went on a stag do in the dales with psycho on the back of my t-shirt. On the front we all had Sammy Chungs takeaway army.

When I was a lad in Hatfield back in the 70s for two weeks a year we strung a clothesline across the road and played tennis from home time till dusk. Then as soon as the Men's Final was over, we got out the bat and stumps again.

Never really got the hang of tennis, although I enjoyed a few social games of Mixed Doubles at Uni.
