I was astonished to read that the BBC's top female earner, Claudia Winkleman gets paid almost half a million quid a year. Astonished in the sense that she actually gets paid.

f**k me how much do all of thosew starlings we see flocking at twighlight on Autumnwatch get paid..??

Oh you mean "women"??

Moving aside from the casual sexism of the OP's title - my argument is presenters should be paid for the work they do - so for example male and female presenters of the same show with equal "air time" should in theory get paid the same.

A presenter on a "hit" show with more viewers, or who appears on more shows, should in theory get paid more regardless of gender - piecework on a bigger scale?

The sexism issue is then about who is chosen to present the big shows, or more often??

Don't these "stars" have agents?
Surely they are the ones who accepted the salaries on behalf of these ladies or doesn't it work like that at the Beeb?

If the 'stars' weren't happy with the money offered they could always say no.
