Just read that only 480 went to Cambridge v Southampton.
-
Looks like we have qualified with Scunny winning and into injury time.
-
According to ifollow the young lads played really well.
Fletcher seemed to be running our midfield judging by the commentary.
-
DID anyone actually go? Any thoughts?

I wrote this at half time and my phone battery died just as I was about to post it...
Even game. Sunderland have more pace but our young team is looking after the ball well. Jack Rodwell is a shadow of the player I remember at Everton. Man City have proper ruined him.
Fielding has been immense. Rovers packing midfield and playing 3 at the back. We've had the best effort, from a free kick we hit the angle of bar and left hand post. Williams missed a sitter after a sharp turn in the box too. Marosi has had very little to do. Ben Khemis has looked very good in fits and starts.
Then for the 2nd half....
Well. I really enjoyed that. We played so excellent football at times and the buildup to Ben Khemis's superb strike was excellent. We controlled the half for 35 minutes and had a couple of sighters. Mika in the Sunderland goal made a vital fingertip save to his right and the Rovers pushed on and took advantage of our crisper passing and movement. A well deserved win for our youngsters. Ben Khemis"s exuberant celebration after scoring was worth the admission price alone.

So, should Ben Khemis be given a start on Saturday?
-
I wouldn't necessarily start Ben the Chemist but I'd bring him on as sub for Copps
P.S. is the going to be a MOTM vote?
COYR

I agree with GlosterRed. Ben Khemis is Copps' natural successor. I would have him and Copps working together every day at the training ground, and in matches I'd let Copps have the first hour and Ben Khemis the last 30 mins. Slowly bring him more into the game as we go with more time and save Copps legs. We'll get another 2 years out of Copps if we use him like this and Ben Khemis will be ready to fill his boots

To say we didnt have any old heads in the middle of the back four, i thought the two that played there did really well.
-
They were playing against a team mostly made up of young players though weren't they.

You mean our average first half of 21 years 8 months and 19 years second half were playing against even younger players from Sunderland!!
I think majority were the same age.
Their U18 play in the premier u18 league and their U21 play in premier league 2 both better leagues than our youngsters play.
So the result was good for the young lads that played.

Did i say they were playing against players younger than themselves ?
No, of course not.
Yes it was a good result for us.
Niteowler had said we didn't have any old heads in the back four and i was making a point of saying that we weren't playing against old heads either.
