I have a feeling that Saturday will be AB's 500th League game (over all his clubs) - the Sky annual has him on 482 at the end of last season.

Last year we played at Newport... The heating was off. It was all mind games. And after the game, they had turned the showers off, so we had to wash ourselves with bottled water. The whole experience makes that my least favourite ground.

That's just not cricket. Teams still try and get away with that sh*t in the Football League?

499 according to something I read earlier, which makes Wigan away the big 500.

The missing link here is Graham Westley, is it not?

Probably not still an issue at Newport County.

Excellent interview.

And that photo of him at Huddersfield. Looks like somebody out of A-Ha in the 1980s.

The article at the top of this thread states it's his 499th game, so that means Wigan is indeed his 500th. Either way, a fine achievement especially for someone who didn't start playing the game until he was 16!

I’m disappointed he didn’t say I was the hardest opponent he’d ever played against. I used to smash him all over to be fair.

As it turns out that was the thing I'd read earlier.

Long day, yesterday...

I was 6foot odd and 14st at 14. I smashed everyone up. He was very good though, if not amazing. Exactly the same as now really, block it, head it, body on the line. Brilliant attitude.

I wouldn’t say so, was in the fastest 2 or 3 in my year at school. When I had a ball at my feet though it took too long for the decisions to get from my brain to my feet! Very poor disciplinary record as well!
