In 2 houses in Thorne.
I was "shocked" when I saw the first with tree fully decorated and lit and strings of lights around the house (room). I was shaking my head in disbelief when 5 minutes later I saw a second one.
Nov 20 - but there must be more - Thorne folk cannot be insular in that respect surely ?

A neighbor of my Mother in Askern trimmed up the the day after bonfire night, she told my Mother she has always done this.

There is a house on Church Balk near the Thornensians that always had them up around bonfire night, not sure if this still happens.
I myself shall be going full on John Quays this year.

When not out here working in the Middle East my true home now is Philippines. Their Christmas starts when the ber months begin. So the trimmings are up at the start of September!!

My two young uns would definitely be happy with that but it would have to have chocolate behind the doors.

I'm holding off even though I can't wait to put them up this year! We spent pretty much all of December in NZ last year and never felt less Christmassy in my life, so looking forward to getting the house looking festive this year.

Bonfire night is exactly 50 days to Christmas day (some reason I have remembered this from being a kid) so 48 day calendar. Sad I know.
