Title: Doncaster Airport
Post by: selby on December 29, 2017, 11:18:38 am
Does the airport ( being in the land of milk and honey) ever benefit from other airports being closed by bad weather, and flights being redirected to Doncaster.
I was once redirected from Luton to Birmingham for fog and was bussed back to Luton to collect my car. does this still occur?

Yes there are often a few diverted Planes but not a staggeringly high number. Seems to pick up an odd Leeds (windy) divert and an odd East Midlands one - but dont know about today

Here is the best place to look http://www.dsaf.co.uk/

Showing one divert from Leeds Bradford due in noon. Could be more to follow

Thanks guys, we seem to be directly under the landing flight path in Pollington, and when walking the dog I often wonder just where they are coming from.
They are no intrusion at all, in fact we normally see them before we hear them.
They seem to go over us towards the gene

I understand it was quite a lively place in its time, with one of the best pub pianists in the country playing there, and people travelling for miles for a night out with entertainment and a sing song.
Unfortunately it is no longer a pub like many others, despite the village growing in size.
Its last incarnation was as an Indian restaurant, which closed after being raided for employing illegal immigrants in the restaurant.

Just what you need - see every Aircraft passing your house and its height / destination / even a Photo of it once you get the hang of it ! Just click on a yellow plane and see what happens !

You can go look all over the world too - but not as much fun as watching Mandeville !

15 years since I was in G&D , school Reunion for Snaith / Pollington /Rawcliffe ( never went to Snaith school but invited cos I knew so many who did) Not been Kings head in last 30 years, in fact hardly been in ANY pub since 2011.

I was on a plane diverted from East Midlands to Donny. Unfortunately my car was parked at East Midlands.
I went home and went down the next day to bring the car back.

Had a thought . You dont need to register to use the Site.

Should just get straight on. Maybe it was busy or under repair ?

This one does the same https://planefinder.net/

I know some will see it as sad but i find Flight Radar 24 fascinating. I have traced family and friends flights a few times. It is amazingly accurate. I can see the approach to Bahrain airport and the plane on the app is spot position to the real version i am watching in front of me.

Yes I do the same - and use the replay feature to see which route I have taken of flights

Flightglobal and RadarVirtuel and the one above are very similar

If you live near a waterway anywhere in the world ( Goole Docks ) this is the Ship equivalent

.... bet you dont feel as sad now eh

Not so now John. Was sad though to hear you stopped going to Castle Park. Thats were i bumped in to you the most, and the beer garden in Cheltenham many moons ago. In my Nutwell Rover guise.

Yeah Castle Park just getting too expensive for my liking (did you watch on Sky last night v Yorkshire Carnegie)

Remember Cheltenham well - so "gutted" when we lost but it paved the way for a very nice consolation including Copps Hat Trick and a Wembley visit and win of course

Do you like the shipping one ? Flight radar is the Plane one is use rather than the other 3 but Selby was having trouble with it as he was being asked to sign in so hope he has cracked it now

All the best JT

You can use the plane finder to track flights between Belfast and Doncaster from 15/06 to 26/10 next year, I know not many of people on here use those flights but a certain Welshman living in Bangor N.I. might find it useful.
