This is another milestone coming up for our legend. Assuming he makes an appearance in all league matches, I make it that his 500th game will be when Charlton visit on 10th Feb. Hopefully the club will bring out the flags.
A touch further down the scale, Andy Butler has 7 games before his 150th League appearance for us.
Back to Copps - he also makes his 600th career League appearance in 8 games, and 22 games (maybe around the end of the season) before his 700th total career appearance, both well worth a mention.

Given the way he's being managed (plus the risk of injury) he may struggle to get 22 games in before the season ends.

I remember not so long ago someone suggesting that DF was only picking him until he broke the club appearances record and then his time would be up with us.

He is always one of best two or three players in our team. Always.
He may only do 2/3 of match but he is clearly consistently worth his place.
Cannot see how Ferguson would want to lose that.

I would love to see Copps sign for another year his touches & flicks are sublime & a joy to watch. He is also within touching distance of 600 appearances. I know it’s his decision & he’s clearly thinking about his family, but it would be a shame for him to retire when he still offers so much -

Remind me what Morecambe away was? I thought it was Copps 500th something... bit lost with career appearances, Rovers appearances, League appearances etc...Remmber it resonating with scoring 5th goal in a 5-1 win....

Was just his actual 500th league appearance rather than his 500th for us.

Morecambe away last season was his 500th senior appearance for us - ie including cup games. He's played 494 Football League games for us so he is six away from 500.
As I mentioned on another thread both the club and the EFL are aware he is approaching this milestone and something will be done to mark it when it happens.
He will join a select band of players who have made 500 league appearances for one club. The only other player currently playing in the FL is Dean Lewington of MK Dons. He's on 557 but has fallen out of favour with the current manager and might leave the club this month. (The manager might go first, of course!)
