Title: Pay on the night at Scunny?
Post by: normal rules on January 16, 2018, 08:29:29 pm
Away ticket info on Rovers website unclear.

Anyone know if they are running a cash turnstile?

I doubt that very Much because of Rovers fans getting in the wrong end and vice versa there could be he'll on if they did

Is it me or is this a poor turn out for a local derby under the lights. Last time we went it was rammed behind the goal. We’re in decent form and I can see us nicking a point at least.

There is likely to be no pay on the day and we’ve only sold 500 or so. We ain’t going to sell too many more in a couple of days.

Is it only Rovers fans that can slag off something that hasn’t happened yet?

It’s an educated prediction that there won’t be many there compared to previous years. More of an observation tinge with a slight amount of disappointment. Anyway I’m sure the 600 or so will make some noise and support the team.

Weather forecast is mild on Tues 11 degrees during day. So I think a lot of tickers will be sold on Mon/Tues and I will be flabbergasted if we don’t have 1,200 fans. I think every chance of 1,500.
I have watched Rovers away at Scunthorpe at least a dozen times and I don’t think we will have had less than 1,200 on any of those visits eve on mid week matches.

Worst away ground I've been to, for seating. You need to be double jointed to sit in those cramped seats! No wonder nobody wants to go.

Who says nobody want to go? I do and probably as do hundreds of others. You might not.

No, all clubs will have supporters who do that.

Wind your neck in, Campsall. I didn't say I wasn't going, just citing a reason why a lot of people may not fancy it. I wish people would stop reading what they want to, rather than what is written! So defensive.

Dont know if this was added after you looked but it is the bottom two lines of the Page when you click on Scunny Tickets

Disabled persons must be on a higher rate level of PIP/DLA.

This game is all ticket with no sales on the evening.

The only reason to do it is to rip away fans off, we should reciprocate it with clubs that do it to our fans

It's not right imo.

Just bought two online so that stiffs them out of 6 quid.

There is according to this from Bunnies Website

I do notice a £1 difference in some of the "starting" prices though

"UPDATE 21/1/18

With Rovers close to selling out an increased allocation, the home club will now put on a cash turnstile allowing travelling supporters to pay on the gate, but there is a £3 increase in matchday prices.

Once Rovers' allocation is sold out, supporters wishing to avoid the increase in price are advised to call Scunthorpe United directly on 01724 747670."

https://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/news/2017/december/Scunthorpe-united-a-ticket-information (https://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/news/2017/december/Scunthorpe-united-a-ticket-information)

The increase, and prices, both early and on the day, are the same for 2 of the home stands.  Please can someone explain how this means away fans are being ripped off?

I think their on the day prices are too high though, but that's the same for fans of both teams..
