Donny also played their part in a decent game, were neat & tidy in possession and Marquis their no. 9 looked a player.

However hard he works the gaffer will get fed up eventually if he keeps missing chances. A bit like when Neil Roberts played for us, very good player, grafted his b*llocks off but just never scored.

Post by: BillyStubbsTears on January 21, 2018, 05:22:32 pm: I don’t see what the problem is. Personally, I couldn’t give a damn if our centreforward only scores half a dozen a year. If he’s stretching the defence, holding up the ball and bringing other players into the game, we’ll score enough.

Marquis hasn’t scored in the last 8 league appearances. But our record in those games is W3 D4 L1. And other players have chipped in with 10 goals. A repeat of that in the next 8 games will do nicely. That’d be us effectively safe from relegation with 10 games to spare. If Marquis doesn’t score again all season, he’ll still have played s massive role in the objective being met.
