Dutch or TRB -- one is rare, but we now have two Alfies on the books. Have there been any others since my schoolboy hero in the 60s, Alfie Hale? And I would guess there have been no Alberts on the books since the mercurial Broadbent!
-
I want to know how many Keiths we've had.
-
What about James's?
-
I know how many Alonzo's we've had..............that any good?
I am pretty sure we have had no Aflie's or Albert's in the last 20 years.
Edit:
Broadbent and Hale were the most recent Albert and Alfie
Other Alfie's:
Alf Calverley 1947-52
Alf Matthews 1933
Alf Wilkinson 1902
Other Albert's:
Albert Bint 1934-35
Albert Hunter 1932-33
Albert Malam 1936-45
Albert Minton 1958
Albert Robinson 1902
Albert Sarson 1945-51
Albert Sissons 1923-25
Albert Smith 1924
Albert Turner 1933-36
Albert Walker 1938-44
Not many then :chair:
I guess Albert was popular through Victoria's reign through to about 1950.
-
Carl Alford?
Otherwise there was:
Alf Calverley 47-53
Alf Matthews 33-34
Alfred Smelt 15-1?
Alf Butler 06-0?
Alf Wilkinson 04-05
Other Alberts:
Albert Valentine 38
Albert Shears 23-24
Albert Waterson 09-?
Albert Hoyle 1890-?
Albert Attree 1890-98?
Albert Jenkins 1879-86?

It's bound to get more and more common, Alfie has been one of the top kid's names for a while now. On the flip side, we probably aren't going to see that many Keith's or Barry's playing for us in the near future.
-
By my reckoning Barry Richardson was the last Barry, no idea about the last Keith though!
-
It puzzled me for a while a few years ago why every young player seemed to be called Jamie, a name I'd never heard before. Then I realised. Your name's James lad, so stick to it or change it, don't give me this 'Jamie' nonsense. Same with 'Robbie' - get it right son, it's Bob or Bobby!
-
You tell 'em Silkie
-
How many Charlies since Charlie Williams and Alicks Since Alick Jeffrey.
-
I want to know how many Keiths we've had.
Ripley, Lindsay, Kettleborough. Mottershead, Webber.
Cant think of anymore

Gary's are a dying breed as well.
Think about it. How many kids/young footballers, aged 20 or under, do you know who are called Gary nowadays?
No one wants to be in Gary's Gang anymore!
-
In the 70's every team seemed to have at least one Alan/Allan
Clarke
Ball
Mullery
Murray

I'd rather call my first born son Gary than bloody Keith.

Gary Kimble !!!!!! I think he had a good game at Preston on the plastic pitch, we won 2-0 . The whole bus got in for nothing as there was a supporters match before hand and they thought we were all playing, I remember Bernie Bouldry played
