I thought Beestin played very well last week..
-
Good morning everyone. Tough game at Fratton Park, we need to score early on to silence their crowd.
-
Watching on Iplayer.
Already a couple of choruses of 'championeees' and 'top of the league and you f**ked it up'.
I'd very nearly managed to eradicate all memories of that from my mind the Kitsons.

Nice to see a strong looking bench!!
Just thinking that as well. Great to see Mc Cullough back & possibility of Kiwomya getting a game.
-
Look a tall team Pompey. Foot bigger than us all over the pitch.

Get in!!! Copps

Lovvvvely

Excellent tenacity from Copps! Ran from midfield, passed it, got a bit of luck, came back to him and smashed it in the bottom corner through bodies.
-
Good man Cops
-
4' Coppinger plays in Beestin, he is squeezed out but Coppinger gets a low shot away and beats Stephen Henderson in front of the Fratton End. 0-1 #DRFC

Should be an extra motivation for our players, to put one over them today.
Excellent start, just what we needed.

Great start let’s keep it going needed that

Lovely build up from Beestin, shot from Copps saaved by Keeper.
Rovers best team in first 10 minutes.

Copps and Beestin linking up again. Just wide from Copps!

Corner, Scramble in the box. They've not really been in it up to that. not something new for rovers that.
-
Shame hope we don’t rue them early missed chances

Ah, well, expecting a loss but sounds like there's something extra in the tank today. Youuuuuuuuuu rrrreeeddddddddsssss!

Rovers conceding from a corner? We might have two new centre backs but it seems nothing changes.

Rovers twitter giving 2 different scorers so who got it?

Our goal was Copps, their goal was whoever is playing number 2 for them.

Any early indication how the two new lads playing?
-
IN general player we've defended quite well. We just seem to have a complete absence of any approach to defending corners.
-
We can’t be defending corners too badly, the stats say they have had 6 of them..
-
And they've scored from one of the six.

Aye. Go and extrapolate conceding once every six corners for the whole season and sprinkle in the odd goal from open play and come back with a figure.
Not a very smart comment that, you can do better.
-
You could apply the same argument to your statement about a complete absence of defending at corners.. that was the point I was making..

HT 1-1

Sounds like refs bottle a red card for pompy

Two of theirs booked? What happened?
-
Sounds like refs bottle a red card for pompy
What happened? Same as last Saturday when there should have been a red card?
-
Well, as someone reminded me last week you can go back and watch replays on Iplayer. Just-re watched the Blair incident 3 times and their player has left the ground two feet in the air with intent to foul Blair. It's a clear red card. Linesman two meter away (TWO).
-
They got 2 yellows just before half time need to target those players
Sorry one for them one for us
Now sky say 2 for them one for Marquis
Need to target their 2 players make them scared to put a challenge in
-
Is Blair ok?
-
He didn't really catch him, he got the ball. But unless they've changed the rules I though it didn't matter?
-
Any early indication how the two new lads playing?
Both look very nervous to me. Pompey have had a number of corners already one of which they scored from. We look very suspect defending them.
-
On a cheerful note.... our friends at Bellend Road and Hillsborough are both losing 3:0 at home....

Andy Butler said it was deffo a red and can't believe lino never flagged for it

Stuck on red card. Absolutely dreadful challenge. As was the one on Alcock last week.

Another letter of apology in the post?

4.48 - Yellow card
Dion Donohue, Portsmouth, 45 minutes
Christian Burgess, Portsmouth, 45 minutes
John Marquis, Doncaster Rovers, 45 minutes
Real controversy to end the half. Matty Blair was charging down the right wing before Donohue jumped into a challenge off the ground. The referee blew and reached for his back pocket but a melee ensued.
John Marquis ran over to the referee but was quickly followed by Christian Burgess who bundled into him, sparking a pushing match.
After a lengthy delay, Donohue was only booked and Burgess and Marquis joined him.
Former Chesterfield full back Donohue was somewhat fortunate - though the melee did him plenty of favours.

Looked 2 footed although won ball,we got to be bit more streetwise though as Blair got straight up instead of maybe staying down and just abit of argy Barry afterwards for other 2 bookings

I said last season that their fans would enjoy singing that at our fans.
Still, some on here were ok with the fact that we threw away the title.

Who's argy Barry - South American fooker?

On the two footed challenge thing, the radio commentator said it was worthy of a straight red card.

I think it is the way of modern keeper coaching.
Most of them stay on or close to the line.

Like I have said, it must be the way of modern keeper coaching.
There aren't many keepers who come to try and catch or punch corners away regularly.
Most of them leave it to the defenders to get the ball away.
To repeat pies, it isn't just us that has this problem.

No, Watching from abroad in iplayer.
Kongolo just on for Copps. Copps scored one and delivered an excellent corner for the 2nd.

fookin Kiwomya no doubt.....

You can almost see where this is headed!!

Still, time to win this (or lose it, although I refuse to entertain that thought) - And a point away at the Kitsons is no bad result.

Very poor defending Rovers. Another from a corner too.

Pompey keeper injured. He's off.
Pompey down to 10 men and outfield player in goal. Come on Rovers!

2-2.

Just as the official twitter feed said we were looking to slow it down what a surprise got to attack from the front
-
Pompey keeper injured.
Carried off, ten men now and an outfield player gone in goal for them.
-
We surrender the lead far too often.
I'll hold out hope here as we've scored late goals recently...

We seem to concede goals straight after Copps goes off.

Pompey down to 10 men
84' Henderson is going off, but the home side have used all three subs so an outfield player will have to go in goal. 2-2 #DRFC

Not so sure
Would have taken a point at the start of the day, and teams often survive a few minutes with 1 or 2 players disadvantage (we did at Shrewsbury)
-
Happy with that, good result draw at Pompey,we've lost 3 CH's and played with 2 new CH's paired up today,2 players back from injury, just a shame we could'nt take all 3 points by taking advantage of them losing players near the end.Bring on the next set of southern Jessies,Charlton nexy Sat.Cannot wait. :scarf: :clapping:
-
Shame only to draw after they lose the keeper and go to 9 men but would have taken that at the start of today also good to get minutes into Alex and Luke
-
We have now drawn more games than anyone else in the division.
Only PNE and Sheff Wed drawn more in all four divisions.
-
A shade unlucky today. Good game and we nearly nicked it late on. Decent save by their stand in goalie from Whiteman's shot. Thought McCullough was superb when he came on.

I like Luke, he looked good towards the end of last season when he came into the team.
He could be a big player for us in these last 15 games.

One of those I’d taken a score draw at 3pm but pissed off we didn’t take all 3 points.
