Anyone watching there game get in Wigan 1-0 up
-
Vote pies.
-
Well i only said the other day Man City will win all 4 trophies this season. Looks like one of them has just gone up in smoke.
No good me making predictions. Rubbish.
Pleased I am not a betting man.
Great finish from Will Grigg. Always rated him when he was at Walsall some years ago.
-
Wigan have played brilliant
-
Wonder what excuse Pep will trot out this time
-
Absolutely brilliant from Wigan.
What a difference having full backs makes! And a clinical striker.
-
Well done Wigan
-
I don’t know why but I couldn’t bring myself to be happy for Wigan, had everything crossed for a city equaliser all the way to the end. Contrast to yesterday when I stubbed my toe celebrating the Rochdale equaliser, funny old game
-
Maybe this division is tougher than we think. First win against premiership leaders and the bottom draw against one of the best teams.
-
Sending off was harsh though. Good old fashioned tackle.used to get 10/12 of those every match once upon a time.
But well played Wigan brilliant performance. Please don’t tell me the FA Cup is dead. Wigan and Rochdale have showed it is still very much alive and kicking.

The Cup is the Cup and the League is the League. In a one off strange results happen. They have been happening in the FA cup for over 100 years. Long may it continue.

Not harsh at all Delph was of the ground out of control, it was a leg breaker and Pep can't complain, he's been calling for refs to give players more protection
-
Harsh? Are you winding us up? It was an absolute leg breaker, his leading foot was just below knee level!
Doesn't deflect from a belter of a performance from Wigan, against THE best team in the FL this season.

I don't know about that look at it again in slow motion and his leading foot goes up and gets the Wigan lads shin
-
I agree with campsall
Never a red card for me
-
Would you still be saying that if it was against us or if it broke the wigan lads leg
-
Yes
-
Going in wth studs showing is always asking for it. Red for me.
Interesting to note that in the midst of FA Cup ecstasy, Wigan fall into the play-offs.

Alan 3 ex pros in the BBC studio said it was harsh. His foot was facing down and was only just above ground level and was no where near his knee.
-
Yes
I doubt that very much you would probably be the only one then
-
The three pundits on tv agreed
-
I judge with my eyes not theirs
-
Not doubting you do, but you just said I'd be the only one with my opinion.
-
No I said if it happened to our players you would
-
Not a red card at all, wasn't reckless or dangerous. A pure 50/50 in which he's just maybe a little bit high and caught him. I'd be out of my seat in fury if a referee sent a Rovers player off for that challenge.
Great effort by Wigan though, full marks for withstanding the onslaught from the best side in the country (and possibly Europe right now) and coming away with a win. Pep should direct his ire at his own misfiring strikers and at Kyle Walker, for letting the ball intentionally run by his foot so that Grigg could run onto it and ultimately score.
-
If the ref’s got it wrong, then frankly, tough shite.
Their player dives in with a high set of studs. 1 time out of five a ref might give a red card. If this is the 1 time then tough shite.
Man City go into the game with a squad valued at twice the GDP of some small African nations. That gives them an overwhelming advantage. If they piss that away by a player making an unnecessarily reckless challenge then tough shite.
In conclusion. Tough shite.
-
Pep , is a total hypocrite , only the last round he was crying for his players to be protected after Cardiff's Joe Bennett had scythed down Sane .
Now the boots on the other foot (literally) he doesn't like it and blames the ref for sending the reakless Delph off.

Yeah alright like. I'm glad Wigan won, but regardless who is playing we're entitled to discuss the merits of the red card decision and the tackle. It wasn't a red card for me, that's all.
-
You can discuss all you like but it was a red card and Wigan won and bloody well done to them. Same to Rochdale as well, I hope they win their replay!
-
1-0 Will Grigg, Up the ‘Ticks... Come on!
-
meanwhile in the real world they dropped to their lowest position since very early on and aren't even in the promotion places
since Blackburn lost to Rovers (how ?) they have a better record than Wigan
and
March 4th we have Bank of Blackburn v Bank of Wigan
-
The red was a borderline one for me. What caused the controversy was the ref pulling out his yellow. He should have given himself a bit of thinking time.
-
thats what the F A Cup is all about, Brilliant.

Definitely.
And you can have all the VAR you like but those sort of decisions can be debated all day and all night and you are never going to get a consensus of opinion.
As per this forum. Can’t understand falling out over it.
It’s just opinions. Right or Wrong. Usually there is no such thing.
-
I had to laugh at a comment on the BBC article about this talking about the split opinion, it said something like "70% of people in a vote on the site agreed it was a red, so it was obviously a 50-50". I know what they were getting at but it still made me chuckle.
I can see why the ref gave the red, he came in with some serious force with feet off the ground and studs showing, slightly different positioning and it could have been a broken leg.
-
red card all day long. if it happened the other way around, man city would be screaming from the rooftops for a red.
-
Where is the consistency though?
Last season Rojo did similar tackles within the space of two or three games and got two yellows. A straight red and three game ban. Two yellows in different games and no ban.
-
Pep complaining about what he has been complaining about!
