No blame on Marosi.

On the distribution thing, there were times when he wanted to roll the ball out as per instructions but our players were closed down quickly.
That left him with the other option of lumping the ball upfield for either Marquis or May to try and win.
May has no chance so unless he could pick out Marquis every time, not easy from sixty yards, then it was just going to come straight back at us.
People behind me were having a go at Marosi for not always rolling the ball out but if he had and we had lost the ball close to our goal then no doubt the same people would have been at him for doing just that.

It might be because his defence aren’t showing for him or that the opposition now know that DF likes our keepers to play from the back and are closing down. Sometimes I’d just like to see him punt it more. I’d give lawlor a game Tuesday

Post by: mattco on April 22, 2018, 04:53:24 pm: Marosi also guilty of showboating with ball at his feet. That plus slow distribution are his weaknesses, but he remains a decent shotstopper. Alfie May needs the ball played in front of him to let his speed count. Playing high balls in his direction is a pointless exercise given the height of most defenders.
