As a teenager in the late 70s I had three fantasy women. I have just seen Debbie Harry and Kate Bush in quick succession. Just need Clare Grogan and I'm done.
-
In case they don't show Altered Images...

I am now done. Be seeing you.

Although Chic are on now and I am drooling over the late Bernard Edwards' basslines

Aye TRB. Clare Grogan had a similar effect on me. Although I was a year or two behind you.
1:05 here was the moment I lost my heart.

And I was always fascinated by that 80s Scottish pop scene. The lead and rhythm guitars played down on the bottom few frets so it sounded like a string bagpipe. Kind of gave a fleet-footedness to the guitar lines. A lot of the Scottish bands did it but Altered Images did it better than most.

Clare Grogan? Bloody hell they must have been a peculiar breed of post-puberty youths who got their b*llocks stirred by her in them days. Debbie Harry or even Chrissy Hynde might have been on many a mind of more mature w**kers like me back then, but Clare Grogan? Give it a rest.

Stuart Adamson was the master of it.

It was hearing this on John Peel's radio programme that made me think Altered Images might be worth a look:

Then I saw CG and I was in heaven!

Clare Grogan is like fine wine
Gets better with age
-
A bit like Joanna Lumley then.
-
You can all leave Clare Grogan alone, she’s mine!!
-
Shes a cutie, but i preferred Susanna Hoffs and Kim Wilde. Had a thing for Cheryl Baker and Tracey Ullman too!!

Susanna Hoffs 😍

Now Sally James, I'd have been like a rat up a drain pipe, but I'd only have done Clare Grogan from behind.
-
Debbie Harry was a crush of mine, but the ultimate, coked up or not was Stevie Nicks
-
Debbie Harry was /is mine and jeez I'm over 60 !

I actually like her voice. It served as a wonderful counterpoint to the group.
Although there are other reasons I like her!

Haha hound the thought of me being DH's tomboy is one to savour - I never ever considered her age . Nigh on 50 years we have both been having this crush on once another and never has age come between us . Hmm I can smell her now.

You are all men of taste but I would like to add Karen Woodward from Bananarama for consideration. Then or now, not fussed.

Talking of Kate Bush, I read about the Blessed Kate selling her house and the new owner being inundated by enquiries from gentlemen who were desperate to buy the Bush toilet. Nowt as queer as folk.
