Can’t help thinking we need a little more compassion and kindness in Uk 2018. Like this.

Thanks for sharing that Billy, food for thought for everyone.

This is the ugly face of austerity. Essential services (NHS, police etc.) Get kept alive but fed on crumbs. All non essential services, the things that actually connect people in bad situations, get left to die. Services become more hostile, if they haven't been told to directly like the job centre, they naturally gravitate towards this position. Services exist as a shell with no human face.
I saw all this when I worked for the Welsh government - that is the terrible affects changes in disability allowance would have for disabled people. When you examine the individual stories you don't find any free-loading, any hands out waiting for payment - in most cases people don't even want/need money - but services and a society that is structured around their needs.

Lovely story. But also pretty tragic that there was nothing there for her. And it could well be that there still isn't.

It does seem to get worse and less caring year on year unfortunately.
The better off society gets the greedier it seems to become.

There’s a simple question to ask yourself. If your life took a seriously bad turn, would you want a safety net to catch you?
Not enough of us ask that question.

No one said anything about politics. This is about humanity.

However bad the world seems to be its always good to know there are still many good people out there.

Point taken. There is a political aspect to the absence of safety nets though. And that is important.

Your right I would just prefer that all parties and people could work together to improve life rather than to score points

Thanks for sharing this BST , what a sad state of affairs we are in when so many so many scared,i fragile nay even broken people are completely at their wits end .
It's tragic that there are now so many holes in our society's safety net. It goes without saying that we should all be more aware of those around us and their desperate needs in some cases. To ask the question " are you ok ? " seems so simple yet so necessary and so human.
