Title: Is this the end of McCullough
Post by: phil old leake on August 11, 2018, 05:48:34 pm
2 games on the trot he’s not been in the squad. Does this mean the manager doesn’t rate him.
If that’s the case I don’t think he will be staying. He’s too good to not be playing for someone. I’m not knocking the team selections it’s been good
I’m just opening up the debate

The manager has a limit on who he can select, including subs.
We have a strong squad so sadly players have to miss out.

Absolutely correct team selection in the fact we won.
I’m sure LM will be important as a squad player further down the line but not a first team player for us

It's only two games. Way too soon to be writing any player off for not being selected.

10 out of the 11 players are at this moment a shoe in.

Mason and Andrew showed today what we missed last year with the Andrew injury.

Wright and Butler centre halves.

The midfield three excellent and if they stay fit keep away from suspensions  should only improve by playing together.
Their understudies are a worry as I’ve said before.

Front three well Wilkes and John again at the moment are playing well.

So it’s who else can play upfront, thought Kiwomya showed nothing today.
So Copps or Taylor at the moment may be fighting for that position.

McCullough not sure were he can get in the squad or even the first team apart from injuries or suspensions, Beestin the same.

Thought we had a thin squad !!!
Well if McCullough isn’t good enough for the subs bench then that says it all for me.
Could have done with him last week. We would have had some control of the game. Yes I know we won before someone chirps in with that fact.

McCann likes pace and players who can get about the field.

Don’t think so another member of our ‘inadequate’ squad who can’t get on the bench.

We can only hope so, never been good enough

We've just seen a very accomplished performance and a good win. Yet there are still some who have to come on here and slag one of our own players off, even though he hasn't played. You can argue we're all entitled to an opinion but my opinion is that utterly moronic doesn't begin to describe it!

Are you talking about McCullough or Beestin?  Either way I have to disagree.

Im on about McCullough IDM. Not tall enough to be a centre back and not mobile enough to be a midfielder.

He was injured in league 2 until near the end of season. Ran the show at Grimsby in the 5-1 win

Scored 1 goal and cannot play this system he has no pace. He played because we did not have better.

He’s better as a defensive midfielder than a CB in my opinion.. does a lot of the dirty work and gets no glory, kind of like Keegan was..

But in our system there is not a defensive midfield player all have to be mobile you have seen the way the three should be played today McCullough could not play in that system. If we want football to be played at pace.

We shall see.. we may need to change system sometimes.

Anyway, we won, and without a few players not in the 18

Correct again. It’s a shame some people have blinkers on.
