Title: Form
Post by: scawsby steve on October 24, 2018, 02:16:30 am
OK, there's no need for any panic or knee-jerk reaction, but 4 points from 15 is way short of top 6 form, and needs sorting quickly.

At the moment, the confidence and composure of our early season form is missing; let's hope GM can get it back. I'm sure he will.

His team was excellent last night apart from in front of goal..  that might be a worry had we not scored 3 each in the previous two games..

Dont panic Mr Mannering.
We played very well last night against a well organised team.
Only thing missing was the finishing. I thought we were going to keep a rare clean sheet up until one slip up which cost us again.
It seems every mistake leads to a goal at the moment.
Two very tough away matches coming up. We need to dig in now and grind out a couple of draws at least if possible.
Nov/Dec looks less tough on paper. But of course football is not played on paper.
We are still work in progress but last night proved once and for all Alfie May is not a League one Striker. Sorry he is just not physically strong enough and never really looks like scoring.
Need another striker in January to give Marquis and Wilks competition.

I have to agree RE May, and it’s not enjoyable because he is so likeable and I really want him to do well, but there was honestly little to no point in him playing when he came on, it looked like a dads v lads scenario every time. I’ve stressed it on another thread, but give Beestin a run, much better with the ball at his feet and always looks more like he has a goal in him than May

The slip by Andrew is the second one in recent weeks that’s cost us a goal and I haven’t been impressed with his dead ball delivery either. Were it not for the suspensions to Butler and Mason, I would be inclined to give Amos a run

Whether he slipped or not Andrews mistake is no bigger than Marquis (on saturday) and Wilkes and Blair (Tuesday) not scoring when clean through on goal. The teams got to take collective responsibility for recent results it's not because of individual players.

All teams go through weak patches image season, I'm sure we will come back into form
