Title: Tracking
Post by: Chris Black come back on November 04, 2018, 08:34:53 am
After 17 games in League One this season, McCann now exactly tracks his performance last season with Peterborough United in League One. We now have exactly the same record as McCann delivered last season - 7 wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats, with 25 points.

PUFC: WWWWDLWDWLLLDLWDL (25 points after 17 games)
DRFC: WWLDDDWWWWLLWDLLL (25 points after 17 games)

For anyone remotely interested perhaps to inform their betting activities, the results that McCann delivered for Peterborough United from game 18 in League One until his eventual dismissal, were: WLDLWWWLDDWLDD.

So if it continues to be mirrored we have 5 wins, 5 draws and 4 defeats to come in the next 14 games And that will give us a further 20 points and a total of 45 points from 31 games.
That’s not bad. Probably leave us about where we are now 9th in the table.
One thing is guaranteed is that with that record he won’t get the sack at DRFC like he did at P.U.

Aye, if we only lose 4 of our next 15 games I'd say we'll be doing alright.

If we Loose the next 4 I think we’d be asking a few more questions about GM and co . This league is not that good but unfortunately nore  are we and with players proven to be punching above their abilities to sustain a performance into the next match the odds of us ending above the mid table are looking more appreciative with each game .

I think it's dawning on a few now that this squad is not good enough for the top 6. The club are dilliusional if they think it is

We surrounded by lack of achievers , on  paper Copps Blair Butler Anderson May Etc are just not gong to get  us much above where we are . Investment long term in quality younger  development players will pay off , short term a more realistic expectations of what GM can achieve with an avarage squad that has a few quality loans. We have deficiencies throughout the squad that can’t keep pace with Sat -Tues -Sat games and it’s showing on our lack of discipline on the pitch with too many needless bookings. A complete clearout , keeping only true potential and moving on those who are just not good enough to sustain the riggers of a team challenging for promotion. If we go up with this squad we wouldn’t last until Xmas!!

The lack of discipline is worrying for me, bookings for mouthing off at refs are pointless, that never changes the mind-set of a ref, and trying to rough up opponents is really working isn't it?! Concentrating on doing your job is far more important, a pity a few of the players could do with taking that message on, especially Mr. Marquis!
