OK...its not April 1, and I am not making this up:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/nov/14/premier-league-richard-scudamore-5m-gift
A gift of £250k each to keep this lad in the style he is used to, a bargain!
That money could not really be better spent funding grassroots football, could it?
-
And, what's more, he's being kept on as a consultant!
-
He wasn’t going to refuse £5m was he. He would be mental to do that.
-
"The man behind the idea is Bruce Buck, a close personal friend of Richard Scudamore "
-
Like gazlaz says it’s not his fault for accepting it. Who in their right mind would turn down 5 millIon quid. It’s the premier league clubs for agreeing to it. Think what good 250k could do for grass roots football in the local area of each premier league club.

No one EVER deserves £5M, barely even as a lifetime payment for work. Greedy overpaid t**ts - grrrr!

If you help create massive revinues for people you are always going to get well paid in return.
-
Or if you are a senior person in one of the banks you would get a seven figure bonus even if the bank has a bad year.

and what's ironic is that the "new man" in the job is a woman

don't know how he didn't become one of Santa's little helpers (and get the sack) lots of others have helped Santa for much less

Who has the ability going to bribe FA officials to do whatever the Premiership bidding is? Not a clue!
-
The lad only earned £25m in salary when in post, so we don't want him feeling the pinch after leaving.
After all, who amongst us hasn't felt the need for a golden handshake so we have a bit of loose change for the meter.
Great PR from his employers as well.
Obviously it will be warmly welcomed by all right thinking folk during austerity in the UK.

S'pose he'd rather have a carriage clock though
